Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

….funny enough, I mentioned him previously alongside Grealish as the two most overrated, overpriced and luckiest English footballers of their generation. I’ve never understood the fuss over either and I wouldn’t be in the least interested in them.

We want to be progressive, we need footballers that play like the game matters. Concerned about the Grealish links, delighted we’re not rumoured to be considering Sancho.

Personally, I’d prefer two transfer threads. One where posters can chat about their aspirational signings and one where the rest of us can discuss actual links, even if the source is doubtful.
Agree can't see us interested in Grealish/Sancho.
Still think we'll get Fellows from West Brom.
Seems like he fits Moyes profile - young Championship player, gets up & down, potential to step up into PL.

He's only 25, but has not been a productive player for a long time. Even his last season at Dortmund was uninspiring. I don't think he'd consider Everton and we definitely should not be considering him.
His ego alone means he wouldn’t consider us. Can’t say I’m sorry.

Although still very young, his career has fallen off a cliff.
Any team taking him on are taking on a large risk.
The current Brighton manager sent him out on loan after barely using him up to Christmas. Brighton are a selling club anyway but if they ask for 40m they will just have to sell someone else.
I don’t want to sign him and think he is overrated but even I’ll defend Brighton barely using him when he was returning from a cruciate ligament tear and welbeck scored 6 and got 2 assists in the first 10 games.

You don’t drop your inform striker. The bigger concern is West Ham not using him when they didn’t have an inform striker.

Especially when Potter knows what he was capable of prior to the injury
He's obviously a long way off getting back to full fitness

What don't you like about buying the voted best player in the championship, scoring goals and the second best passer in the league, Messi is not available. All this from midfield, have you ever seem him play? because I have and I am also glad the decision is not yours.
Hey it was mainly a dig at your spelling.
FWIW, I said about a month ago I thought Hamer looked a bit portly, more Homer (Simpsons not Greek poet) than Hamer. Look it could work out. Bit older than Cahill was but similar profile. Career, not silhouette.

I’d love to know what’s the score with Chermiti. I was at the match where he came on and made a really good impact (West Ham home?).. got a couple of (difficult) shots on target and seemed comfortable at that level, Moyes even singled him out for praise afterwards.. since then, radio silence. Anyone know what’s gone on? Why he didn’t get minutes over Broja etc?
To be fair he has missed most of the season with a nasty injury. Beto then hit some form and stayed fit. Moyes was determined to get us up as high in the table as he could too. I think if the numbers are there next season a loan move would be best for him to get a proper season under his belt

I'm concerned that so many people keep talking about Callum Wilson like he'd be a good signing. Not only is he 33 and has lost his legs, he's hurt every year — 5 times for 28 or more games. I'll take a pass on this bag of old, brittle bones.
No, the only reason we are talking about him is that he would be a terrible signing.
But it has more than a whiff of inevitability about it.

Why are people saying Ferguson. The lad clearly has issues. Did he get any game time at all at West Ham? That would be a signing showing we haven't learnt a thing. Probably take half a season to be match fit and we can't afford to waste loan spots with such a small squad.
Once he stays injury free he should be at relatively the same match fitness levels as the majority of players when the season starts. Staying injury free is the if though
