Why do Evertonians hate their own players?

I think fans sometimes don’t see players of there clubs as humans but almost detached by there paychecks. And therefore there to be taken shots at. It’s crap like but I think they do.

I've been a member of this fine website for over 15 years on and off, i have met a few of you but still find a few blues use this site to HATE the lads who try and win game for us. I have never understood this.

Anyone know why? The "Everton Darsss" shout coined by Azul was very accurate. I was in the Park End and heard literal boos for Dom and " He wearrrrs a skirrrrrt"

Whats this all about blues?
To be fair GOT is actually saner than things like Twitter etc.

People dislike the attitudes that go with our grabge teams. Its not enough that they're rubbish. They're rubbish and still try to carry themselves like superstars. I don't remember our fans hating the poor teams we had in the 90's and early 2000's. Hell, our fanbase mostly loved our teams from the mid 2000's to the mid 2010's despite the fact that they never won a button. It all comes down to attitude. The sides we've had in recent years? Their attitudes have stank. That being said, the OTT hate at times is mostly an online thing. Nobody (or hardly anyone) really bahaves like at the match or at the pub because they'd spend their lives being laughed at. Everyone (myself included) are just way more hyperbolic online.

Only Everton player iv genuinely hated while they played for the club was Schneiderlin
Not hate but I worried for the club every time Niasse played.

A totem for everything that was wrong between Moyes’s spells. And people celebrate him.

Don’t get the love for him. He was awful and played like a raffle competition winner.

Prince Oumar my eye.

I am not sure this question is correctly formulated; I don’t think we, which the exception of a few empty heads, hate our players. We have been extremely critical of some of our players but I think you would have to say we are right in feeling disappointed in what they have been serving up over the course of the last few years.
If I under preform at work I expect someone to be critical of me, if the staff I manage fail I would look to help them but if they continue to fail then they have to know that I am not pleased with there efforts. The same applies for Premier League footballers only to a much greater extent. Fans spend hard earned money and they invest part of themselves in a club, they watch players earning more in a week than they earn in a year, they have the right to expect those players to preform. Players who are winning trophies are hero worshipped, they are held in great esteem and I have no issue with that, within reason. I don’t hear anyone complaining that successful players are complimented too much, I haven’t heard anyone saying that we shouldn’t credit great players too much. So if it is OK to give them plaudits it must be OK to critique them when they fail. I don’t agree then criticism is over the top but underperforming players should be made aware of the supporters feelings.
If I am earning £50,000 a year and I am paying to watch someone earning £50,000 per week I want to see both skill and effort, I don’t think anyone can say all the players who have played for us over the last few years have always displayed both skill and effort.

Palace fans won nothing ever until this season and their fans are bouncing usually
Maybe we should stop blaming twenty somethings for 30 years of failure

Players can be criticised. It doesn’t mean fans hate them. Fans of other clubs don’t wander around in this blissful optimism never saying a bad thing about any player they have you know.

It’s so weird why some want to perpetuate an idea that Everton fans are somehow bad for the club and its players. The club would have gone under without the fans in recent times. Leicester fans were leaving the stadium early and booing their players during a relegation battle. Everton fans gave them coach receptions and full houses home and away.

I was angry with the club every time he played. Don't blame him for being bought and played but to sign a player like that showed the true incompetence of the club.
Niasse was awful but least he tried not like some players that have the ability but just aren't arsed for one reason or another. Those are the players I can't stand

Evertonians, by and large, do hate players that don't give the effort required or that show open contempt for the club. See Schneiderlin and Maupay as Exhibits A and B for this.

Evertonians, by and large, do not hate players that don't have the skill required and don't perform to what we'd like.

We will criticize them, but do not hate those players. At all.
