2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

I just hope he doesn't panic after Tuchel saying he wants to select players playing CL for his WC squad.
It's baffling that a manager would require that.. Would he really rather take worse players from better teams over better players from worse teams.. Braithwaite is clearly England's best CB who plays on the same team as England's best Keeper so they know each other well. An England manager would have to be on crack not to bring both.

Branthwaite is playing every week , gaining experience and admirers.
He has plenty of time to move to a different club in the future.
Sitting on the bench somewhere will not do much for his career and as good as he is he still does make mistakes as any young player will do.

It’s also baffling because he’s just named a squad that does include players not playing in the champions league. What’s the difference now and next year?

How many English players are actually in the CL clubs?

An England team that started with Pickford, Tarks and Branthwaite should be an ideal base to build on.

None of the keepers but Henderson will be in EL next season. 7/8 defenders in CL next season and 1 in EL. 6/8 midfielders in CL, 1 in EL and 1 in ECL. 4/7 attackers in CL, 2 in EL.

Only Toney, Trafford and Pickford won't be in Europe (unless they move club).

Chelsea need looking into straight away. Plus, if that is fine. Then we need to sell Goodison to the women and cheat the system like they have because they have basically just won a European trophy because they bought about 20 players all for big money.
There is no excuse for TFG...if chelsea is allowed to use the sale of woman's team for psr calculation, 100% goodison should be sold to our women's team...pl stadium...I would say that 150 millions is probably fair value. If we do a chelsea, we would probably claim 500 millions

We would 100% get punished for doing that, that loophole will have been closed until a time when one of the fantastic 6 could do with it being opened again.

London media have started in earnest trying to unsettle him and sell him to Chelsea

Tell them Yes no problem

Bidding starts at 150 mil......gtf.

Absolutely spot on.

Then negotiate a contract with him (a reasonable wage, not an obscene "here's a CL wage" along with a clause of 90-100m which is not outrageous and one he would know clubs would trigger ) and he will have 2 options

1. Stay with us as we'll qualify for Europe next season
2. Go to a CL club such as a City, Chelsea, Arsenal, extend deal with Everton

I swear if Chelsea try and do one of those weird player swap deals to try and sign him where they give us their utter crud squad players who can’t get any minutes then I will lose my mind

Money only. no Broja, no dewsbury hall, no david datro fofana and no Ben chilwell

He’s going nowhere this summer and will be signing a new long term deal in a matter of weeks, I’m sure of it. Selling him would send all the wrong messages and would make TFG look like paupers straight off the bat.

Every club sells good players, even Man City and Liverpool.

In fact Brightons primary transfer strategy involves identifying and developing young, talented players from emerging markets, then selling them at a profit. This approach allows them to reinvest in new talent and maintain a competitive edge without relying on significant external funding.

It shouldn’t be seen as a ‘wrong message’ to sell Branthwaite if we receive a very good deal for him as long as that money is reinvested into the squad to make us stronger.

Just speaking from a personal POV I just desperately want us to keep Jarrad and his value will only increase further once signed up to a long term deal, so no need to sell at the first opportunity.

Also, I think creating even more work for ourselves in a summer where we already have so much to do would be a bit foolish. Replacing JB with a player of similar quality/potential would cost at least £30-40m so a significant amount of the money we receive would be answered for.
