Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not building a team around him, more that he's an important piece of a jigsaw
One of the very least of our worries. Can’t believe there is anyone complaining he isn’t good enough.

He has the 2nd highest passing accuracy in the squad (only behind Mangala). Whilst also making the third highest amount of passes per game in the team (behind tarks and Branth).

Key part of the team and is vital to us next season. We aren’t going to become a possession based team next season, so his tackling is still key.

We do need a CM that can dictate a game and control the tempo, but that’s to go alongside him while we find the next Gana.

41 Championship appearances last season
36 Prem the year before

Few subs on and off in there but looks like he is available most of the time

More than a few.

To me, he looks like he carries more weight than he should, and he comes off as a sub because of fitness, not ability or tactical.

Some Sheff Utd fans make the same point here. Some other interesting points too.

The same forum has a really cool player ratings system, so after every match they vote 1-10. From 4019 player ratings on that forum last season, he averaged 6.67 out of 10.00. Consider they only lost 10 from 46 games, too.

I've watched them a fair bit as well, just don't rate him. His type of role in a team near the top of that league does him a lot of lifting.

Nah, don't agree at all.

Most players go away on holiday, so they wont be rushed anyway, takes time to get the players you wan't.

Its not FM or Fifa.

Teams at the very top of football are already making big signings.

We have 13 registered players for next season. You can act too cool for school an sneer at fans, but the sooner we start bringing players in the better - it reduces the need for genuine panic late in the window. [Edit] And to be fair, we're trying. Delap/Alcaraz.

No you’re talking nonsense, Alcaraz was in the prem at 20yrs of age, Ndiaye was sheff utd best player when they got promoted and he went to Marseille, the club he supports, Everton we’re interested, maybe a few other prem clubs were. Hamer got relegated in his only prem season and stayed with Sheffield Utd, no prem teams were interested. Maybe one or two will be now. Let’s wait and see.

And Ndiaye who we could probably sell to 60/70 % of the prem was 23 leaving sheff utd to go to Marseille and Hamer was 26 playing his only season in the prem now 28. And he will have 2 maybe 3 prem teams if he’s very lucky interested in him
No im using YOUR criteria, which is terrible. Dont change what you said now. You said we should judge him by the clubs in for him now. Alcaraz didnt have clubs in for him when we signed him in the winter. Ndiaye didnt have clubs in for him when we signed him at 24. After their prior spells they were written off. Much like you have now written off Hamer, after his prior spell. The likeness is uncanny, and yet you remain blind to it.

You probably dont know this, but he was named player of the season in the championship. Im not sure what hes capable of, but its wild to me to just write off a player who A. Played well in the PL, and B. Was named 24/25 Championship Player of the Season in back to back years.

If you look at Newcastle, they paid big bucks for Hall & Livramento at young ages as full backs. I'd love to have them as our full backs now, wouldnt you?

It all depends on whether we can sign a Rayan Cherki for the right or another blockbuster signing like him. If not then i'd rather we went for potential than 2nd rate.
Newcastle didn't have PSR problems and are backed by Saudi state, they also had Burn and Trippier to help bed them in.

I would like them in the side, but I can't see us spending £40m+ on potential at this moment in time.

….he’ll go if he wants to go, that’s normally the way of it these days.
He does not seem like the kind of player to throw a strop
I'd say he'd respect the contract if asked and maybe gets told he can leave next season
One more season agreements happen a lot too

He may even see his long term future at Everton
It's only journos who are constantly selling him on

Don’t all contracts end on 30th June as that is the official end date of the season?

I think the, so far announced, released players is because we likely said this is the best we will offer and they said no. Whereas with Keane/dcl, there’s room for negotiation.
I swore I read something about where they had it in their contracts even though the official date is June ,30th for them to stay with for a couple additional weeks before a announcement is made regarding their release but can't find it. I could be wrong, I hope there's no room for negotiation lol

I read through their thoughts on him and they seem to really rate him highly based on the comments. They would rather he came to us over Leeds though. I think he would be a good player for us.
