2024/25 David Moyes

I mean we can all laugh and vault each other now but let's be honest when Dyche was sacked and Moyes was the leading candidate nobody was confident it'd turn out this way right?

Some thought it would turn out quite different.

Yup. He was on 4M at West Ham, so this makes sense.

Ange and Amorim are value for money 🤣

No shade on you, but I'm calling Bullspit on Premier League now. If there's anything in it, it will be £12.5m for the 2.5yr contract.

The Friedkins were (rightly) confident of staying up with Dyche and presumably had someone in mind for summer. Doubt they would go from that to spaffing £12.5m a year on an out of work moyes over the course of a weekend.
Yeah, that would seem to be the most plausible explanation.

But i did see the 12.5 thrown about a few months ago as well. But as others have said, perhaps all these outlets were only looking at total contract

I was definitely on the fence.

When it comes to Everton I love being proved wrong.

I've never understood the mind of someone who'll dig in and be defiant even though they know they're wrong.

After the Spurs game I knew everything was going to be ok...After Forest I thought we could be onto something.

Reckon that 12.5 was for his 2.5 year contract, and it checks out.

Anyway I wasn't very pro-Moyes at first at all, but safe to say he's won me over in instant fashion and I'll gladly concede that I was wrong.

I was 100% right about Dyche however.

I mean, he did it here before and at West Ham. But what is most impressive is the margin of the improvement.

The team since he came was top four-six in form. That’s tremendous progress by any standard.

Moyes seems to be especially good when he gets to work with Alan Irvine as his assistant. They probably compliment each other’s strengths very well. Irvine is a brilliant coach, by all accounts.

These things are daft, same with players salaries too. No one knows what they're getting paid except those who see the contracts. HR at football clubs aren't leaking players and managers salaries. Moyes isn't on 12.5m a season
