2024/25 David Moyes

Surely not? More than double what Slot is getting at the RS? More than anyone except Pep and Arteta? Meanwhile Bournemouth are paying Iraola a million and Nuno gets just 2 mill at Forest?

Someone make it make sense please.

No shade on you, but I'm calling Bullspit on Premier League now. If there's anything in it, it will be £12.5m for the 2.5yr contract.

The Friedkins were (rightly) confident of staying up with Dyche and presumably had someone in mind for summer. Doubt they would go from that to spaffing £12.5m a year on an out of work moyes over the course of a weekend.

That wage (or something v similar) was first used in L’equipe a while back.

I reckon they’ve confused whole contract with annual wage.
Must admit I struggle to believe it myself, would be his biggest paycheck ever.
I’d guess they’ve got the calcs wrong and applied the overall contact value as an annual value, rather than divvying up by 2.5 years.
£257k x 52w would be £13.3m
£13.3m / 2.5y or 130w = £102k per week which sounds more likely.

It makes no sense. It shows you that he had us over a barrel - or any new manager at that time did, to be more accurate. It also suggests that if he is backed this summer he is going to need to rocket us up the league to justify that inflated fee in less dangerous times.

Or it shows you that there is a mistake in that calculation. I suspect that is the more plausible scenario because Moyes would not have been the only manager capable of keeping us up in January.
