Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not saying we dont need a striker, but.. how do you think we would fair with n'diaye, alcaraz and a top class right sided player, also with addition of a very good right back, with our current striker options?
We absolutely need a striker, but definitely agree that a proper right winger and right back (as well as more improvement from Myko who is quietly getting better) would also contribute to adding to our goal tally without touching the striker position. Ndiaye hit double figures in a difficult season in terms of style and injury, no reason why he can’t improve on that. Alcaraz has shown he could chip in and a right winger who could get 5-10 goals would be huge.

An attacking full back could also create more opportunities that the squad currently lacks. It opens up space for everyone when the attack is spread.

If we don’t land Delap or any other priority striker target, then investing behind Beto wouldn’t be disastrous. But we do need another striker :’)

Which is why it was so important to finish 13th and not throw that away by finishing 17th by playing kids/fringe players like some wanted us to.

It means we can make the signing permanent without worrying about it in terms of budgeting from a worst case position of 17th.
finishing 13th over 17th is not far off the amount we were sanctioned for leading to the points deduction
Every place matters. Also looks way better for prospective signings

There is no pitch at BMD at the moment. Moist was moaning about that the other day
Drone footage from 2 days ago.... Hard to see the exact quality.

I think we do need another striker, Beto has got a few but he could have had double with the amount he has missed, he isn`t clinical enough. In the modern game the striker is also more than a goal scorer, it is about bringing others in to play, how many assists has he got?

I doesn`t matter what I think though and the fact the club are out there looking shows that they feel what we have is not good enough, Delap isn`t coming here to sit behind Beto, I think Beto will be sold back to Italy anyway. I think it is one of our priorities to get a good solid striker in that can do everything, Beto is limited in alot of respects, and that will make a marked improvement from our side.

Alcaraz nothing to do with Moyes. Can't remember if Soucek was a loan. Lingaard is a decent shout though.
He will have had some say in it. As in, the reports were that he vetoed other transfers that thelwell was working on.

But also, he has been a success but that also has to do with the manager, not just the player.

Oh no I completely agree, if Delap comes in, he starts.

Just don’t think it would be absolutely disastrous if we had another season of Beto if everything behind him improved. Don’t want expensive panic buys.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of the Delap roadshow? He may turn out to be pretty good but last I looked he ended the season on the bench at Ipswich. I guess you cant blame the player but sign for someone already🤣

It will be announced this coming week before England u21s.

He was left out by Ipswich likely as hed be exhausted and also as they were selling him and need the £30mil, wont risk an injury.

If Beto got injured we'd be screwed as Chermiti has not had any time.
