The best thing about this win was the players attitude. Same as last years performance away at Arsenal. In both games there was zero to play for but they turned up and put in two fine performances. We often berate players attitude but this time we can say their attitude was spot on. That’s a testament to the recruitment process and the manager also not accepting players putting their flip flops on. That for me is promising for next season if we get the recruitment right.

wasn't a penalty... the ball ricocheted right into his hand. No chance.
The ricochet wasn’t off his own body though. It was a good 5 yards away from him and his hand moves towards the ball. If someone takes a shot 5 yards from you and your hand moves towards the ball it’s always a pen. This is no different. It’s obviously not intentional but it’s a stone wall penalty on the current rules.

I think Pickford is an awesome keeper. Just shame he's a mackem. You'll kick on this year after the dross that you had to endure last couple of seasons from the hands of that man. No way should you guys be fighting relegation. I'd love for you to wipe a smile off Liverpools faces, its about time you had some real competition in that city and I think you've shown very good signs this season that next season will be very different.

Not sure what happened to Moyes at West Ham but he's a good fit for Everton and probably feels like he's come home. By all accounts, he probably never should have left for that basket case of a club.

…the ball travelled a long way and the outstretched arm stopped it going to Mykolenko. I thought it was a definite penalty and I’m convinced it would had been given if it was at the opposite end.
On the current interpretation it’s one of the most obvious hand balls you could see. The incompetence and inconsistency of referees is staggering. The Palace red card, the Villa goal yesterday and our hand ball. Three inexplicably bad decisions in the space of two weeks.

Ah come on, champions league. Wouldn't you? We haven't bought a first time player in 18 months! Last summer we bought a 3rd striker for 10m and 2 old goalkeepers and were completely shafted in Anderson and Minteh. And were underfunded for years under Ashley. Tbh making 5th is a miracle this year looking at how much Villa strengthened in Jan.

£500m spent by these inbreds to bounce around in the centre circle for finishing 5th btw.

Two players that never got close to a starting spot for you. Did Minteh even make a first team appearance? Nah I’m not convinced finishing 5th bankrolled by the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the fairytale story you want to make out.

I feel sorry for Villa today. Scandalous
Yeah but like us they bottled it. Should have been 3 or 4 nil down even by the disallowed goal. And it may or may not have changed anything. You can't say we didn't try to attack, multiple shots on goal. You weren't in control all game, we just couldn't put our chances away.

I wont forget when their goal line technology failed so sent Eddie's bournemouth down and now themselves. [Poor language removed] happens. All they needed to do was draw. I would have had no complaints if they had won or drawn, it was down to us and we blew it.

….still think the last minute Man Utd penalty reversal was clear indication of different interpretation for different clubs. I have absolutely no doubt this is the case, what I don’t know is whether it’s by design or officials being brainwashed.

Never forget Graham Poll saying the first game he refereed at OT was United v Everton and Everton had an absolute stonewall penalty at the Stretford End. He said it was 100% a penalty but he never gave it. The Everton players were giving him grief and he still doesn’t know to this day why he never gave it. I think it was him who blew up as the ball was going in the Gwladys St net off Don Hutchinson.
