To me he can. I’ve seen him split defenders, hold up when he needs to, and pull the trigger on instinct instead of passing or taking one too many dribbles. One part of his game he needs to control is his emotions. He’s prone to getting booked and being too chippy. The better you get the more attention that’s on you. Just needs some refinement and maturity. I see Moyes moulding him quite well.

I kind of want him as a rotational player, long term option for striker and support striker. I think he is a guy that wouldn't even flinch playing across the front 3 because of his dribble. I think as a like for like swap he isn't enough of an upgrade to woo me and we are better served putting our resources elsewhere. I hope there would be more thought behind this signing than that.

Given Ipswich’s only tactic was to give the ball to Delap in the area, and his goals dried up in the second half of the season when the opposition bothered to mark him, those stars aren’t great.
