2024/25 David Moyes

If Moyes had a full season we’d be on course for just short of 60 points and well into the top half? The only reason we are 13th is because the former manager did such a botch job in the first half of the season.

As you know Mike, I backed Dyche, but in the end he had to go. I laid out my expectations for him as it unravelled and he failed to deliver. He should have went after Forest for me. I also said unequivocally whilst I was backing Dyche that Moyes was a better manager, and he is. Dyche has gone now, he deserved to be sacked, so I don't really understand why anyone is still arguing his corner. Time to move on me thinks.

We need a good start next year more than anything. None of this going 2-0 up and throwing it away, none of this Everton haven’t won in ten games etc etc. We need everyone fit and everyone having a go.

His persistence on stressing what an achievement it is to remain a premier league club (before talking about the next steps) does my head in.

WE GET IT FFS. YOU DID WELL WITH THE MATCHES YOU HAD - THATS WHY YOU WERE BROUGHT IN.

The glorification of a bang average league placing is what gets up my nose. I don’t care about the circumstances or the state the club was in when you arrived.
We need to win a cup.

Basically between the lines , players will be kept on for the sake of numbers.

Lets hope it doesn't cost us a shot at a European qualification. We definitely have players now who cannot slot or who are costing us points every time they play.

Bit worrying when he said he'd like to keep them all .
Same players got us into that position in the 1st place.
He may think he's changed them but they could revert to type at any time.

Chance for a major reset , just do it Moyst.
If we had a spare 400m im sure Moyes would do a complete reset, as it is we need around 13 new players and some "cheap" decisions will be made.

I'd guess the first bit just means relatively speaking, like we're offering them all some sort of contract but whether it's the type of deal they're likely to accept is a different matter. I'm all for a big reset but the truth is we need way too much to do it all in one go and realistically some compromises are going to have to be made somewhere.
