2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

I'm not fully sold on him. He has been a bit of a nomad in his career and there is a reason for it.

There has been such a low bar with signings that it doesn't take a great deal to impress anymore.

He is ok. If he doesn't stay, then perhaps he can say he wasn't given enough of an opportunity.

I'm 50/50, think he would make a decent enough squad option at a low price. But as endorsements go, that doesn't seem good enough.

Disagree.

I thought he has been excellent since he has come here.

11M is an absolute steal for a player that works for 90 minutes, always looks for the forward pass, can assist and can score a goal.

With Harrison and Doucoure gone (god, I hope so) and upgraded, and with a full pre-season under his belt, he will be much better next season.

He replaces the outgoing Doucore, that’s for sure. He’s shown enough especially away from home to warrant signing him at £15m. In this day and age that’s a really good price.

When you’re restricted in what you can spend of course it’s a low bar, also no European football adds to that.

Baby steps, let’s get back into Europe first before we expect to be signing £40m plus players.

I thought he was very good at Fulham, but thought he struggled yesterday. Although the change to the 442 system really did not help him, and I thought we looked awful when we made that change.

There was a time he had a ton of space in front of him through the middle but waited far too long to play the pass to Harrison, and then eventually played an awful ball nowhere near the support. He just ran with the ball with his head down and it concerned me a little bit. After he had carried the ball too long, he may as well just had an effort at goal.

I'm honestly not sure if he's good enough or not. But at 12m or whatever it is, I would probably take a chance on him because we should be able to get that money back. It's low enough risk to be worth it I think.

The move to 442 yesterday was a bad choice. We could no longer control the midfield, zeroing out the extra attacking threat we put on with him and Dom. I understand the reasoning for it, but game managementwise, it wasnt great. Had Alcaraz started that game, im certain we wouldve scored more than 2.

You could say the same about Arteta when we signed him, he turned out pretty well.

If he played the perfect pass every time then he wouldn’t be at Everton.

He’s shown he can travel with the ball, score , assist, play forwards and work hard. And he’s only going to improve.

First and easiest business of the summer for me.

He's only 22.
I think he's been dropped to the bench unfairly a few times tbh after performing well.
