So the time has finally arrived. Our last ever mens game at Goodison Park .
And it's goin to be emotional.
Southampton are the visitors. But that's not really important. This one is about saying goodbye. And it will not be easy.

Everyone will have their own memories of it. The matches. The big wins. The heartbreaking Defeats. We are all of different ages and eras so for everyone they will be different.

But let's just recall some of the icons . Dixie Dean, the golden vision, Tommy Lawton , Brian labone, Joe Royle, Dave Hickson, Ray Wilson, Alan Ball, Harry Catterick, Bob Latchford, Howard Kendall ,Colin Harvey, Neville Southall, Kevin Sheedy, Peter Reid, Dave Watson.
Everyone will have their own favourites and heroes. Remember them all on Sunday.

Games that will never be forgotten especially those under lights. Bayern Munich , Merseyside Derbys, Doucoure, Farrelly,Dcl and Stuart in the great escapes, Rooneys first goal, Tarkowski at the death ..

But must of all remember the friends you made. The pints you had , the scalding pies at half time , the unique smells. the people you say beside through it all, the trip to the ground, the feeling you get no matter how bad things are when you take your seat, the Z cars, the people who brought you for the first time, those who are no longer with us .

It's never easy say goodbye to things we love and who played such a huge part in our lives. There will be tears shed, goodbyes to those sitting near who you may not see again.. it's given me for one some of the greatest memories of my life. It will never be forgotten.

We move to a new stadium.. Hopefully a new era. But before we do let's give one last huge send off to one of the historic venues in British sport..

Goodison Park. Thank you and Good Bye

For all those wonderful names you mentioned, all brilliant payers, you forgot to mention me when I played on Goodison park in 1954 in a schoolboy final and played my part in a 3-2 cup win.

…fantastic, that was before I was born and makes me feel a bit younger. I will also be able to soon tick Goodison off as another ground I played on that no longer exists.

So if we beat Southampton and don't fall completely apart against Newcastle, we're guarenteed to finish above the mancs and spurs. Not bad, considering how bad we've been. I can't remember the last time we finished above either one of them (probably when we finished 4th?).
Man Utd finished 3rd in the season we finished 4th

Last time we finished above both Man Utd and spurs was 2013-14 when we finished 5th on 72 points

But the system is rigged so that one of them gets the Champions League and the money to rebuild. If both had finished there without that safety net things would be very interesting
