New kit for the last game?

Have to agree. You can like it or not, but I don't see how you can be surprised by what it looks like. Some people also seem to have forgotten what it's actually supposed to be - if it was royal blue and with the current badge it wouldn't be a tribute to Goodison would it.

The one in Royal Blue was a tribute to Goodison Park.

125th Anniversary.

Still, my point remains - it's not just a colour change from the example you give.

It's a very different top. Nor will it ever be wore by the first team like the other was (albeit, pre season)
I disagree.

You’re free to feel however you wish about it, of course. I’m just surprised at the reaction - and as I say that’s on me because the reaction to shirts is always the same.

Fair enough. Having it in the colour we first played in at the ground isn't a totally out there idea though is it? Like I said, it's not really about whether people like it or not for me, just the sort of over the top reactions you get about it being a disgrace etc. I haven't bought an Everton top for about 20 years and I'm not going to start with this one, but everytime we release one we get this massively melodramatic thing abut it being the worst thing anyone's ever seen and all that. It's a bit mad.

One has stripes, one doesn't. One has a sponsor. One doesn't.

You say the reaction to shirts is "always the same", yet your point was everyone loved the royal blue one, but not this?

It's utterly mad why they would price this polo shirt for £60!

Complete CASH GRAB for Goodison when they are going to keep it open for Everton Women and Under 21s
Do the club get anything from shirt sales nowadays or are all their commercial deals based on lump sums and the risk sits with Castore and Fanatics to sell as much as they can at whatever price to earn back the money they've given Everton for the season? I feel the amount of shirt sales is only relevant to the club when coming to negotiate the next commercial deal.

Does anyone know how these deals work? Other than the fan being left to fund everything

Me either.

Though I understand it's an emotive topic.

I understand less, people who sneer at those who share an opinion towards whether they like, or dislike a top.

Each to their own - but;

1. You can't say everyone always fumes at whatever shirt is released, and in the same sentence, say people loved the same shirt that was a different colour.
2. It's not the same shirt as the 125th anniversary shirt.
3. The colour of the shirt didnt have to be dictated that colour to be a tribute. It's a nice idea, but I'd rather have Everton/Royal blue as a commemorative item if I was to buy - but then, that's perhaps a saturated market and already been done.

Barely perceptible stripes, barely perceptible logo, not a sponsor.

You say the reaction to shirts is "always the same", yet your point was everyone loved the royal blue one, but not this?
Yes, which is why the reaction surprised me until I put it in that context.

It’s differences people object to, I think. If it was royal blue, the reaction might be different.

So people are reacting to what they see and not just fuming for fuming sake...

I really liked the 125th royal blue one.

Really dislike the latest

The good news is, both are available out there so if I wanted a commemorative top I have the choice.

I'm not sneering and didn't say everyone loved the other one. I was just agreeing with a post that said I don't get what the big surprise is, it looks exactly like all the teasers suggested it was going to look. As I said, I have no issue with people liking it or not, i'd prefer people acknowledged that it was just personal preference rather than assuming that if they don't like something it must mean the club has dropped a massive clanger etc, but it's not something that particularly bothers me either way.

I reckon about ten to fifteen minutes, then it'll be closer to our custom royal blue, starting wherever you sweat.

The timing is very odd, could have done some sort of Christmas gift package thing and take some of the sting out of the quite frankly extortionate price.

Bishing* about ticket prices is going to be, ahem, a bit rich, on the back, ahem, of this...

I'm not saying they are. I'm saying I was shocked at the reaction, and I've conceded that's on me.

I think it would've been a smart move to produce this one in royal blue, too - but I like that it's different.

Not quite the right thread for this, but it's in the same souvenir ballpark as this shirt...

What on earth is going on here?

I totally understand wanting a piece of the Goodison turf... but framed? So it slowly turns brown and just dies on your wall?
