2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

I feel signing Charly is a no brainer and he helps us. He’s a bargain. I’d still look to improve if we can for his position in the window. If we get better than him and Alcaraz is our sub, then we’ve improved a good bit.

I think we’re going to sign him and Moyes is simply waiting until the end of the season to avoid distracting transfer talk and to not tip his hand. I wouldn’t read too much into the gaffer’s lack of comment on Alcaraz or any player for that matter.

Can’t work Moyes out at all. We’ve been safe for weeks. Should’ve been starting this lad every week to see what he can do
I can really, look how close it is from 13-17th. We want to finish as high as possible. Whether you agree with the method that’s the logic behind it. 13-17th is worth a lot of money for a club struggling with PSR.

But there is the issue of playing doucoure and harrison every game for the majority of the minutes, and end up going in to the summer not knowing how good your other players are.
Chermiti is another one who seems to lose out to the likes of Broja, and now it seems DCL.

The Broja thing makes sense, see what we had with him. Obviously not much as he has been binned off.

Same with DCL really. I would assume Moyes wants to see how his general fitness is and how he fits into his team.

I bet some of Bournemouth and Brighton's squad are on £20k a week. We need to get away from overpaying moderate players.
Not many. The average PL wage is 60-70k a week, Brighton and Bournemouth aren't the tinpot clubs run by local used car dealers that people continually seem to think they are, they aren't afraid of throwing serious cash around.

I say this all the time but it remains true. If your manager needs to play people 5 or 6 games in a row to 'know how good they are' then something has gone seriously wrong. They get to see them in training, can watch pretty much every game they've ever played in their career, have access to all kinds of data about their fitness and performance etc. Giving Chermiti a few games would be nice so that we can see what he can do. If Moyes doesn't already have a very good idea of that and might have his mind changed by a good 90 minutes then we probably need to rethink paying him £5m a year.

Moyes maybe wants to spend the money on Soucek. If we haven’t go a lot of cash he will have to prioritise.

Hope I’m wrong, would much prefer Charly.
