Not a hill I'm prepared to die on as I don't know the full Zhao stroy. But it sounds like both were serious.

Wasn't Zhao done for being aware of another player match fixing rather than doing it himself? He was also betting on snooker games (not that serious perhaps?).

Higgins was caught red handed agreeing to take money. He was prepared to match fix.

Both were serious. Higgins was cleared of match fixing also . Rightly or wrongly he was cleared of that charge.
Neither should be playing imo.

Thing is they were never going to bring the sport into disrepute by punishing someone like Higgins ( would have been the same story if it was the likes of Selby, O'sullivan, Williams etc). If it was say Joe Perry or some other middling player they'd have had the book thrown at them. That's what irks people the most.
