Last Film You Watched

Went to see the Penguin Lessons last night. Cracking little film.
Apparently based on a true story as well, mate.

Honestly, when I first heard it was starring Steve Coogan, playing the role of an Englishman who had adopted a penguin, I legitimately thought it was going to be an English re-make of this Jim Carrey film 😳:

It just goes to show, never judge a book by its cover, or in this case, a film movie poster!

There's a 4k upscale available which has gotten decent reviews. Fan led, unofficial. Haven't gotten round to watching it yet

because I was searching certain pics for the star wars thread, I was comparing the death star generals scene with the prisoners talking scene in alien3.
I ended up reading this.

“We got to see David’s cut in a Pinewood screening room and it was basically the version we’d filmed. That film was a masterpiece in my eyes,” says Brown. “It was creepy, existentially horrific, empty and scary but there was a desire for life inside it. We saw the premiere a year later and it wasn’t the same film at all.”

An ‘Assembly Cut’ designed to restore Fincher’s vision was finally released in 2003 and despite all the chaos, fans still regard the movie more fondly than reviews might suggest."

I don't know what he was thinking trying to get E Grant crowbarred into this film, he tends to bring quite a lot of camp ham to proceedings, I mean, Alien as a horror comedy is definitely an avenue unexplored. Maybe even a musical.

Havoc.

Netflix latest blockbuster.

Bent cops, bent politicians and Triads.

Lots of gun fights, lots of car chases, with dreadful CGI and a Matrix style body count.

Utter garbage.

What a waste of Tom Hardy, Forest Whittaker and Timothy Olyphant.

Don`t bother.

Did you like Keanus shoot em up films?

This is better as it has Tom Hardy

For the reason of : the waste of Tom Hardy.

The film was that poor, they could`ve saved a bundle of money and just got Jason Statham to do it.

Same end result, a dreadful film.
They wouldn't have been able to...

The Ja-man was busy filming this movie at the same time, which if you haven't seen yet, is just slightly better than 'The Beekeeper', which means you can pretty much give it a miss.

It could even work as a Rom-Com, if you really wanted it too...
