Still abroad so never saw it. My son went and said Everton played quite well hut got bullied out of the 3pts. A stark contrast to some of the extreme comments on here.

I went to the game yesterday, I thought we played well for about half an hour, got 2 up and I thought we would close the game out from there. Then they got one back and it all went down hill from there.
You can see what the manager is trying to do, playing the same way we played when he had Pienaar, Cahill and Osman behind a main striker and having Baines and Coleman Provide the width. But I don’t think the players we have now have the same quality, particularly in the fullback areas.
I thought the ref was shocking, I thought Delap should have been sent off in the first half, there was a foul on our player (Patterson I think) in the build up to their 2nd goal and even after the second goal Hirst fouled Branthwaite completely off the ball and should have gone.

To go from Patterson losing the ball deep into Ipswich's half to conceding like that is really poor, especially when you are already 2-1 in front.

My slight issue with Moyes is how vulnerable we seem to be on the counter attack. Just poor game management so late on in the match.

Back in Suffolk, and some final thoughts:

1) great to see Bramley-Moore Dock, the new home, and looks iconic already, but sad as an outsider to lose these old Archibald Leitch type grounds, the wooden seats and floors of the away end just feel special, and even the pillars in the way have something!
2) incredible how many Evertonians were congregating around the ground 2.5 hrs before KO.
3) Hope the shuttle buses work out for the local pubs around Goodison to the new ground - keeping that link to the fun of Goodison Road would be best of both worlds.
4) thought Town did a good job to nullify the early stages and calm down the atmosphere after the displays
5) then you had a great spell around the goals, where you played it quickly with short passing behind Beto and with some width… our makeshift defence of all centre backs got pulled around
6) then I think McKenna changed something and Enciso was brought into the game… we started breaking the lines
7) Enciso goal a worldie but McNeil’s shot with the swerve was also outstanding
8) I do think you should be disappointed with the second half, this was a severely depleted Town side, no full backs, weak central midfield, yet I thought we looked the better side for periods and crucially we wanted it more than you
9) Delap did go in a sign the wall of a house on Goodison Road, but there were many other players signature up there. He sadly won’t sign for you, expect Man U or Chelsea.

Anyway great to be part of a a special day. Good video below, speaking to one of yours and then second half game review from some Ipswich journalists
