2024/25 David Moyes

The results under Dyche meant sticking with him was not an option
It’s an unknown of course but personally don’t think we would have gone down. The team are subject to bad runs which we’ve seen under Dyche and now Moyes. But also under the two of them they’ve gone on great runs which have dragged us out of danger.

Sticking it out would’ve meant we could start fresh in the summer but I acknowledge that wasn’t possible given the new owners and the fans and players knowing that changes could now be made

Making it a moyes v dyche thing is just daft though. Moyes is a better manager than dyche and always has been but the fact is we got safe quickly off the back of a new manager bounce and the bottom 3 stopping picking up points at the same rate as they had been. After a great start we’ve gone straight back to very similar levels as we’ve seen under the last 3 managers. We’ve won 2 out of 10 home games since Moyes came, 2 of our last 13 games in all competitions, only kept 1 clean sheet in the same timeframe etc. He’s done fine but the reality is things haven’t actually changed that much. If people were giving dyche protests it’s only fair that they ask some questions of Moyes too, as although he’s clearly made us better to watch etc, the difference in results is starting to level out quite quickly.

end of the day. we’ve got moyes now
he’s got the chance to build

this is a new era now for us

i’m excited

no point dwelling now

Whatever about spin, a new stadium and a fairly big overhaul of a stadium just after a clubs gotten through one of the worst periods of it's history is a fairly clear new era.

Be nice to start it with something we haven't already seen 11 yrs of

clean slate innit we’ve been years behind everyone

we’re playing catch up

given time we will get back

To name just a few, Joseph Yobo, Kevin Kilbane, Nigel Martyn, Tim Cahill, Alan Stubbs, Mikel Arteta, Joleon Lescott, Tim Howard, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines, Yakubu, Thomas Graveson, Marouane Fellaini, Seamus Coleman, Sylvain Distin, John Heitinga, Landon Donovan, Steven Pienaar

He definitely had an eye for a good player and probably even more so now with the extra experience.
Gravesen was Smith's.
