Just hope he goes now to be honest, you’d never bet on him to score in a 1v1 and his only truly good goalscoring season was when he had world class creators in Digne and Rodriguez putting them on a plate for him. Not to mention the fact he misses half of every season through injury, time to shake hands and get a new number 9 for a new era.

Bit concerned that Moyes is convincing Dominic Cardboard-Cutout to sign a new contract. I’ll be really disappointed if he does - it’ll show we have learned nothing, have zero ambition and are happy to just exist in the top league.
Or it'll show that Moyes knows way more than you about football.

DCL up top with Doucoure in the 10 position, whats there to be disappointed with looking forward to that?

How many of these decent strikers are you picking up for £1.5m?

Is he the world’s best striker? No. Is it a transfer that £for£ has worked out? Without doubt.

He’s the best striker at the club currently and we’ve spent a lot on replacements.
and for the last few years he has been picking up 5.2m in wages per year for not scoring much

But even so, if you had the complete cost of DCL together, it’s still worked out as he’s our third highest PL goal scorer. With plenty of players who’ve cost substantially more overall below him.

True mate. But a striker is ultimately judged on goals and apart from that season under Carlo he’s flattered to deceive.
He’s our third highest PL goal scorer and cost £1.5m. So if we’re judging him on goals he’s the third best striker of the PL era.

He’s a solid PL striker who’s suffered with injuries and playing in a crap team for the last few years.

I don’t think the season under Carlo was a fluke but actually just the only season he had a high level of service. He was also 23/24 that season, just entering his peak as a player. He only just started playing regularly as our N9 in the second half of Silva’s first season.

That form was then absolutely stalled by injuries problems and being forced back from injuries by Benitez and Lampard.

Yeah he does miss chances. He’s not world class. But in a decent side, he would average 12-15 goals a season in my opinion.

There are lots on here who rate Pedro at Brighton. He’s got far better team around him and is on course for 12 PL goals this season. It’s a solid number for an average prem striker.

I would be happy if he signed a new deal. I think Moyes would have scoring again next season. I think if he leaves, he will score goals at another side too.

Also, if he leaves, at £1.5m he’s been a very good signing for Everton. A player who’s a played in some of our worst sides and comes out the other end as our third highest PL goalscorer.

Doesn't make him 3rd BEST striker just means he has had plenty of games in that position. Think the Yak and Campbell off the top of my head.....even Cottee were far superior
