The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

It’s funny how most people on here agreed that around 36 points would probably see us safe, months ago, we are now on 38, with 6 games left to play and there are people worried that;

  • Ipswich will win all their remaining 6 games, when they have only won 4 in the first 32 games.
  • That we will not get a single point in the next 6 games, when we have only lost 2 since Moyes took charge and we have players coming back from injury.
We are 13th! Not 17th! we are above Man Utd, Tottenham, Wolves and West Ham, I don’t think any of their fans feel like they are under serious threat of relegation.
Nobody is actually worried that that will happen though, it’s just people working out the maths of it, no?

No chance we'll be relegated but still a fair chance we finish 17th.

Why? There is really only Wolves who have much better form than us, West Ham and Spurs are worse. Most of the teams below us have nothing left to play for in the league. Spurs and Man Utd still have Europe to focus on too.
Our players have 3 massive home games left before we leave Goodison. On our form I would back us to get 2 wins and 2 draws from the remaining games, I can’t see all 4 of those teams below us will better that.

We`ve been on the coat tails of Spuds and United for a few weeks now and have gone on a run of draws that kept us behind them despite their bad form. We tend to have a habit of not taking advantage when other teams slip up, this weekend being an exception, but if we get on a run of wins we can certainly pull away from them between now and the end of the season.

Just read that Ipswich have won 1 home game all season. One, singular.

ONE
And probably v a team no one expected it to come against.
2-0 v Chelsea

Only Saints have less home points with 5 than Ipswich's 7
Only Leicester and Saints with 11 at home have scored less at home than Ipswich's 13
Only Saints have conceded more at home than Ipswich at home
Only Saints lost more home than Ipswich
