It's nice to have players fighting for contracts for a change instead of us fighting to get them out of contract.
Because he was not awful. That's exaggeratedHow is me saying "doucoure was awful for 93mins" wrong?
You implied it.I didn't say it was his fault, I said it was the reason he gets more stick. If you're going to be paid £100k a week at Everton you should be our stand out best player.
Great response mate. CongratulationsGive it a break mate...
Another well thought our response. Hope you are OK mate.Nope![]()
Because he earns twice what most of them and
Not his fault.Because he earns twice what most of them do
A sensible, thought out post. Others on here should learn from it. But sadly brain cells seem to be scarce. Much easier just to slag him off.We know his limits, and he does have a few glaring ones.
He does pop up with important moments, that’s not to say he doesn’t squander others, but he’s been a good servant of the club, if he’s on 120k p/w it’s not his fault he’s on 120k p/w.
I’d be much happier if he was on circa 60/70k p/w and extended a year.
Equally if it’s time to say goodbye then he should go with praise and thanks for helping to contribute during difficult times.
At what wage rate would it make sense to keep him? He can show his love for the badge be taking a 70% haircut. I'm afraid Davey has become enthralled and has too much transfer power.
It’s not his fault and fair play to him earning that much, I’d never slag a player for making too much, they have short careers and should maximize earnings. Not his fault.
Exactly. I agree with all of that. I think the issues people have is just how much pitch time he gets and that he is far from the type of player you’d expect to see for those wages. That being said, if I was ever lucky enough to earn that weekly rate, you can say whatever you want about me in any forum or show on the teleIt’s not his fault and fair play to him earning that much, I’d never slag a player for making too much, they have short careers and should maximize earnings.
But certainly expectations are much higher when you make that much.
Are you actually answering yourself with sarcastic praise?Great response mate. Congratulations
I wouldnt be against it, but i would be against him being in the starting 11 next season.I really hope we dont give him another contract.
But, considering the amount of rage it would cause, maybe we should.
Mate, Alcaraz squared the ball to him around the 90th minute on the edge of their box and he almost fell over it. He’s a highly paid player and that’s standard for him. Constantly coughs up possession and picks either a hospital pass or passes to the opposition. It’s not exaggerating. Personally he comes across as a really decent lad and I can’t fault his energy, but he’s a very average footballer at best.Because he was not awful. That's exaggerated
