Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’ve watched as much as I can of him this year since we’ve been linked and he’s a strange player. Doesn’t seem to have blistering pace, no real fancy tricks, but has an uncanny knack of getting half a yard on defenders and whipping in some pin point crosses. If DCL were to stay he’d be the ideal signing. If you’re recruiting Fellows then you need to recruit the right type of striker, a DCL or a reincarnation of Duncan Ferguson. The old fashioned number 9 who’s great in the air. They’d score a hatful. It’s no good signing Fellows and then going with Beto up front or a striker who’s game is all about playing on the shoulder of defenders and relying on through balls from central areas to run on to.
He sounds decent like a right sided Mcneil. But we need pace and goalscoring too

El Khannouss could be a possibility. Can play in central midfield or on the wings. Wonderful passer of the ball with exceptional weight of pass. With Leicester going down he may be available for an affordable price. And at 20 years of age there's potential for huge profit if he is a success.
Like the look of him.
Wouldn't mind us getting him at all.

…I thought the post match interview with Doucoure was quite telling.

He clearly wants to stay but said ‘the club has been very quiet about a new contract’. We can’t fully determine what that means, whether nothing has been discussed or his representatives have made his financial demands known and the club are sitting on it.

Regardless, Doucoure seems key to the balance of the team, particularly the Ndiaye role. Maybe a better LB could free us to employ a conventional no10 or Moyes is after somebody else to do the Doucoure job, a player who is much more comfortable in possession.

Moyes smiled when asked about Doucoure’s signing celebration, he offered no further insight. I liked Alcaraz’s cameo, he’s a possibility for a permanent deal but I imagine a more potent RW, striker and full-backs are priorities.

we need at least 6 players in with all those being released, possibly more

we can (hopefully) spend decent money on a striker, right winger and a full back(s)

we also should be signing a really good , young, versatile attacker for 15mil EUROS!

I think 6 might be conservative ya know mate.

i think so too, i said at least 6, but i don’t know enough about the finances etc

i also don’t want us to go full forest in 22/23

id be happy with a fairly tight squad bulked out with the likes of Armstrong, Dixon, Heath etc

i imagine we’re looking at some decent outlays at CF, RW and LB

a loan or an out of contract player like Lamptey or Walker Peters to compliment Obrien at rb

and then maximising the loan market to bulk out the squad

Be interesting to see what we do with Armstrong.

I cant tell if youre laughing with me or ive missed something?

Hes done well at RB of course. LCB is entirely different though.
I’m laughing at the fact you completely ignored my point of him playing successfully at right back. I’m my opinion that’s more of a difference than left centre half. He has also played well in a back 5. There’s nothing to suggest he can’t play left centre back.
K

His digits are impressive to say the least. Assist machine.

apparently laid on 6 chances yesterday.

I think the club have been quite clear about contracts haven’t they? I’m sure I heard Moyes saying there’s no talk of contracts until mathematically safe.

….good point, seems like one has been offered to Gueye. I suppose the risk is players you want will negotiate to go elsewhere, saying that it seems Doucoure wants to stay.

I know he’s a bit marmite, but I think it’s good if he stays (on the right terms!). He obviously offers something to the team, but at the same time is frustrating. If we look at his important Contributions though, he’s offered more than pretty much any other player

How many points do we need to be mathematically safe?
Ipswich have 7 games left, so could get 21 points (But they aren`t), we are 18 ahead. If they lose we need 1 point.... IMO we are safe now, can we push ourselves to get a few places higher? The prize money will be good for us, with the amount of European places we could have been in with a shout had a couple or 3 of our draws been wins....

Just goes to show how bad it was under Dyche, if the league started when Moyes took over we`d be 5th, even with that form we are still 7 points behind 10th!
