DM should have telephoned Eddie Howe - who crammed the midfield & cut off all supply to their forwards - -DM played 2 in midfield & Doucs upfront ?

They over ran us most of the game ....
Tbf Joey, they do worse to most. We don’t like it but they’re one of the better sides in Europe and have run away with the league. Beatable? Sure. Moyes was too reactive? Absolutely. Oh, and Newcastle still have 10x the talent we do. It’s not apples to apples.

Yep,Isak up front last night and maybe a much different outcome👍

It depends. I remember feeling really sorry for Nigel Adkins who got Southampton into the Premier League and was then sacked for some bloke I'd never heard of called Pochettino. If there's a better manager available who wants to come we should get them. Moyes didn't think twice about shafting us.
I would agree with that type of hawkish approach generally but they're not going to do it here at the end of the season and it would be upheaval and chaos without a guaranteed reward. Not to mention summer transfer plans would be torn up.

I'd expect Moyes to see out his contact and then leave, hopefully after some progression and with solid foundations in place for a successor.

His stay over the next two season though is far from secure. It depends to an extent on how much work is done in the summer and what TFG think we should achieve off the back of it.

At a minimum I think we have to be very comfortable in mid table next year. Any flirting with the bottom five and bad runs once the table settles down after 8 games or so, and pressure will be on from TFG.

For me any manager has to do at least slightly better than expected and to outperform relative to resources and their starting point.

I've always thought that Moyes has enough about him to do that but not enough to replicate the type of season Villa had last year (and this) and Forest this. I don't think we can ask that of him either but with a fair wind we could be in contention for a European spot and get a run in the cups.

I wouldn’t necessarily go that far. Depends what you class as top bottom half I suppose but I don’t think we’re clearly better than the majority of the bottom half. I’ve said before I’d expect us to be in the bracket of 12th-15th, I think we need a significant injection of quality if we’re going to push into the areas we want to be in next year.

Top bottom half means around 11-16th for me as the name says. We need improvements in the attacking area for sure and we need to invest the other teams won't sleep.
