2024/25 David Moyes

It's worrying that he's shoehorning Doucoure into the side.
He seems to like that type of player physically wise in the 10. He has had fellaini, soucek, and Doucoure in that role. Doucoure is off this summer so should have a number player there unless Charlie makes that position his, but I feel he should play deeper as a box to box player.

You know what you get when you sign up Moyes: safety and a bit more than that but way too deferential when playing so called big clubs.

It's like howling at the moon to expect any different from him just because he's been and managed a few more clubs since he was last here. It's in his DNA.

I'd break the bank to get Iraola here before Levy snatches him up.
You wouldn't have to break the bank to get Iraola, he's on a quarter of what we pay our managers. However we have maybe 3 or 4 players in our squad who would suit his style, and that's a big issue.

We're getting shut of a load and he'd bring a couple from Bournemouth who can play his way.

Were better off making a clean break from Moyes.

I get that people see him as a comfort blanket and that he''ll get us safe, but we have to be bold now in this new era.

Go for it.

Made the most tackles in the game yesterday so there’s part of the reason.

Unfortunately, he then proceeded to pass the ball straight back to Liverpool and only Beto and Harrison had a worse outfield passing accuracy than him.

If we have any kind of a budget I agree, but not sure that we do, so a more forward looking appointment might have to wait for a year or two.

Felt for him last night. Clearly Ndiaye isn’t ready. And Chermiti and broja have hardly set the world alight for us and are both also just returning from injuries. Lindstrom out as well.

Our front 3 had passing stats of 36%, 44% and 60%. Surely has to be one of the most ineffective front lines in the league.

Only Alcaraz could act as a real outlet to keep hold of the ball.

We'd have a enough cash for that. The new owners were going to bring a new manager in prior to hiring Moyes.
We just don't need to 'break the bank'.

Sure, Moyes is very limited, annoying af, jilted us unceremoniously (thankfully at a time when most of us wanted him gone anyway) and prone to set his family up, irrespective of merit, somewhat like a Traveller's camp around the gaff. However he's done the job over the last few month's, I wouldn't cry about another season at this juncture. But I agree, he's not the answer, and never has been, he doesn't even seem to like football that much, it's about himself.

Was encouraged by his comments after the game in regards to the officials. We can't just stay silent when so many key decisions in games simply never go our way...

Yep, they came back off their break and were dreadful against Wolves, nowhere near St it enough in the 2nd half against West Ham and awful and half yesterday.

Too many players who simply aren't good enough
This is the whole thing in a nutshell.

A lot of people couldn't wait to crow about how 3 wins in 4 were irrefutable proof that we had actually been a top 10 side all along and the only reason we were struggling was because of Dyche but we've very quickly regressed to the mean and are somewhere around 14th or 15th in the form table because that's how good we are. Dyche was underperforming and Moyes has improved us, but he can only improve this group of players so far because ultimately they are just not very good.

For me, last night wasn't a bad effort truth be told. They're the best side in the league and we gave them something to think about for long periods and still could have nicked something at the end. Realistically, I don't think we can expect any more than that at the moment.

He’s worked wonders with the limitations he’s got.

He’s shown he’s a standard above Dyche.

We are in good hands, but he must be backed, the playing squad especially in the forward areas is really poor.

My only issue with last nights performance is the substitutions should have been made earlier where possible (perhaps Illi could only manage a limited amount of minutes).

He cant even get himself to the new stadium. It' an insult to all supporters who haven't been in it yet.

He's jaded and needs replacing.

I do think he has the foundations of a decent squad here. This summer, it's really important that we trim this squad right down whilst we have the opportunity to & build it back up with more quality/potential..

The key decision in that game was the ref not sending Tarkowski off. Their goal was always going to be given because the attacker didn't actually challenge for the ball. Annoying but that's the offside rule these days.

It is the foundations but nothing more. Pickford, O'Brien, Branthwaite and N'Diaye are the only 4 I'd hope are still first team players in 2 years time.
