Season Ticket Waitlist

But the 39,000 baseline that we are saying we would increase by 50% to have a 62,000 capacity is a false ceiling. It's only 39,000 because Goodison has been downsized for years due to lack of investment. The "real" Everton attendance would be well into the 40,000s at a maintained Goodison. Football, these days, is a different beast to what it was in the 80s or 90s. Don't underestimate the amount of tourists or day-trip fans we will get at the new place.

I think 53,000 will prove inadequate in years to come. That's not just a hunch - it is the trend for all Premier League clubs over the last few decades. Attendances are rising everywhere. That's why City are expanding, Spurs and Arsenal built new stadia, and others can't wait to build 100,000 Bedouin tents near the Manchester Ship Canal.
100% hopefully with them looking at more land down there can maybe help. But honestly not sure if it csn be done is something we should always aim to and keep growing as a club

I’ll be honest, I’m proper annoyed.
4000 tickets apparently sold. Last time they published the banding I was well inside that, and been on the waiting list since Jan 2019… but people could just jump to the top of the list even if joining the list for the first time, if they happened to have an extra year of membership.

Very much doubt I’m alone in this circumstance, but doesn’t half leave a bad taste.
Well, if it was the other way, you might say that those who did pay the membership get jumped over by those who paid nothing but joined a waiting list. People not going to be too pleased either way. At least it seems like most people got a decent jump in their band rather than the 'hidden' entry that was on the site.

And, selfishly, it's also great that there are going to be more match tickets available which don't include singles peering round a pole or under a roof. Although I did have a soft spot for my UB5 pole.

Just got my update mail. I'm into 2501-3000, where last year I was 5501-6000. Only adding around 3k tickets at the new gaff is poor

It’s the way all clubs are going. They want more match day fans and less season tickets.

I gave mine up and then regretted it the day after the deadline, been on WL since day one, ever but refused to get a membership. Now I reckon I have a 10 year wait at least now.

Eh? How exactly would you get jumped over by someone who has been on the list for years longer than you have?

I’m fine with membership being an element that gets taken into consideration, but the fact it’s to the exclusion of all else (which it wasn’t when the waiting list started) is ridiculous. People joining the waiting list in 2023 or 2024 and jumping ahead of people who’ve been on it since 2018 or 2019 because they paid an extra £30 once over the preceding 8 years is just daft.

Surely a sensible system would be something like going on a score of years membership multiplied by years on the list?

I would imagine it's just to do with the bandings. They'd have maybe added 5k if everyone had taken it up from the first tranche but only 3k did and so they then look at it and say it's too difficult to split the bandings into smaller groups and we can't open it up to everyone in that band so we'll just go with what we've got. In a way I'm glad (obviously I appreciate that's not going to be the case if you've missed out) because it's important new fans get the chance to go sometimes and we're not a closed shop with a stadium full of season tickets. The away ticket situation is very frustrating because of that, at least the home games won't be as bad.

I get what you’re saying, but I can guarantee that’s not the issue.

🤣 Their whole system is run on salesforce, which is what I do for a job. Promise you that simply ordering a list by join date and segmenting the data is not a problem
No sorry I didn’t mean it’s literally too difficult to do, I meant they may think it’s more trouble than it’s worth dividing the bands up further and again not knowing what the take up will be and so how to manage the process.

If they wanted to sell some more season tickets it’s literally a 5min job.

Would imagine they’ve just decided they want more walk ups
