I like the lad, don't get me wrong, but what happened to his attacking game in the time between leaving Forest and joining Everton? He offers absolutely nothing in the final third, and we can't afford that when we have an abysmal attack and no wingers or attacking full backs. I feel like he'll ultimately end up a bit-part squad player from 2026.
He was introduced to Sean Dyche.

Have to disagree. He is meant to be the more creative of the 2-man midfield and he offered nothing then and hasn't for weeks in my opinion.
Doucs is not a number 10 when he drops back into midfield, even more of a disaster - 2nd half W Ham were told to have a go as we had 2 in midfield - lucky to get a point - Garner had a good first half - but we were overrun until the substitutes - Ingraham looked good too ...

He could end up being that type player who can do a job in multiple positions but never really do enough to convince in any of them. He's someone you wouldn't mind having in the squad. But he needs to improve a lot if he is going to match the clubs aspirations going forward

Suffering because Doucoure has been told to play further up in support of Beto. Now Doucoure can't link play and pass adequately when he's ten yards from fellow Everton midfielders, so what he's going to do when he's twenty yards from the nearest friendly shirt I don't know.

We're a bit stuck, either we use the man extra and dominate midfield at the cost of isolating our sole attacker, or we push up and try to press like we did first half and put the opposition on the back foot. Either this pays off and we look great, or we eventually slow down and the opposition grow back into the game and start to lean on us in return.

We don't have the quality in depth to whole sale change things, so we limp on carrying the side as best we can. Gana aint Pirlo, and Garner aint Scholes.

We'll be a different side with Ndiaye and McNeil back, and we'll have clear changes from the bench to freshen things up and willing runners to introduce.

Garner is suffering a bit from the transition in play and some of his cover going MIA.
