The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

I kno esp what the last couple seasons reegation fights been like. I do think next season they will be down the bottom again
Walking back to the station on Saturday I overheard a few of them basically saying they expected to be in it next year too, with one of them pretty much questioning the point in even staying up

I felt like saying that a survival season in the Premier League is still better than a season in the Championship

Just think cunha goes might have a better defensive but will be a big loss, also would not surprise me if they wanted a change of manager again. Dont kno how lucky they have been and the advantages it gives you even just about staying up

As awful as fighting to avoid relegation is, and it can really grind you down, it beats being on the outside looking in whilst the show goes on without you

Wolves are an historically big club who have won League titles

They should want to be at the dance, even if it’s only to scrape survival

I never get supporters who are willing to give up top flight status voluntarily

If you’re not striving to be in the top league then there are plenty of other supporters who would gladly be there instead

We’re not mathematically safe mate, no

However, we’re 16 points clear and we’re almost in the middle of March

We shouldn’t be resting on any laurels, but I don’t think we need to be worrying too much either

Just focus on winning as many games as possible and the table will be what it is
We are closer to the champions league places in terms of points than we are to the bottom 3... time to chill out, relax and enjoy the rest of the season, without thinking about going down something we haven't done for a couple of years

Is what has been the difference last seasons with us leeds leicester luton burnley southampton. Even at the game on sat looked to be alot of empty seats at wolves and even some everton fans in the home end. The psr stuff us compared to forest, everton is lucky to have fans as crazy and dedicated

Yes mate. I would be made up if we keep the form up and qualify. Would be great.
Glad to hear it. I'm not excited about it at all, nor am I worried about relegation any more as neither are going to happen.

It's good that you're balanced about it all, though. Must be quite the emotional rollercoaster!

Some supporters will see relegation as a means to an end like for instance getting rid of a bad owner

I don’t agree with any of that but speaking to fans from other clubs some do see it that way

I think there is a difference in attitude towards relegation between ourselves and many other clubs. We have not been relegated since 1951 and came back up in 1954 ,that's 71 years in the top flight. Other clubs have gone down and bounced back several times and sort of got used to it ,accepted it as part of life. Most of our fans have never known it to happen.

Thing is that trend is going to continue next season too

The gulf between the two leagues is now enormous

Imagine that Sheffield United team back in the PL, or Coventry if they came out of the play offs.

The gap is too big at the moment, there needs to be wealth distribution down the pyramid because we’re going to end up with 4 or 5 super clubs and everyone else will be a tin pot amateur team.

Sounds like the rest of the corporate world really doesn't it ?

Pepsi or Coke ?

Google or Apple ?

Unless there is some sort of structure and regulation to even the playing field - FFP for me has been even more anti-competition - even if it was sold as a way of managing the gap.
