2024/25 David Moyes

Seems so many have forgot how bad we was before he got here….in seeing all sorts of negative comments already.

Joke so many of our fans, crying for more already.

We were not even competing. We were going away to grounds and literally not having a single shot on their goal.
It was as bad as ive seen. We've had teams/managers in the past that were bad at competing. But never just given up even bothering to compete.
The previous manager was sucking the absolute life out of this club.
Forgot how bad is right.

Maybe. But I think he was right when he said Wolves have been playing well recently. I thought they looked good last night, especially first half. I’ll take a point personally

TBH I thought first half hour they looked well off the pace and we looked like we could have overwhelm them. They were unsure of themselves without Cunha's presence and we failed to capitalise on that.

At one goal up we should have been pressing high and going for the jugular. They were there for the taking. A good team would have seized that moment to put the game to bed. If we'd have got a quick second that could have been a hiding we handed out to Wolves.

That's what I was referring to above when I reminded people of Moyes's inherent negative tendencies: he looks to consolidate when another more adventurous manager throttles the life out of the opposition and wins with ease.

We'll see a lot more of that next season and people will remember the way it was last time round.

Moyes has undeniably done very well , I only question the hunger he has that go for 3 points when it’s all square and to gamble making changes for 3 points. The really top level managers would have made changes earlier last night to go for the win ? Maybe I’m being too harsh

Probably got beat doing that, a point away , win at home will do me this year.

I didn't want Moyes back (although i give him 100% credit for our turnaround in form, performance and results). His primary faults drove me mad last time (insisting on playing his favourites even when they weren't producing, taking an age to make substitutions when it is obvious to the entire universe that subs are required etc. he still does that and I will end up going mad again

I think we just lack that tiny bit of quality in the squad to make the next step. If we have Ndiaye in the team in the past three games I think we win at least two of them for example. With a good summer window behind us I think the signs are there to show we will be able to be around that 14th-8th battle and not thinking about relegation.

That last time round Everton were generally competing year in year out for European qualification.
I get you dont like him and there's a wum element here but you're taking the piss talking about negativity while previously being the chairman of the Sean Dyche fan club lol.
Kin hell the brass neck on it.

I didn't say Doucoure was a good player, I just said he defends from the front unlike Alcaraz. I think it's undeniable that defensively he's the better of the 2, the question is whether that's what you look for in a number 10.
We`re past the days when we should be looking to our front players to defend. The big plus with Alcaraz is that when you give him the ball he can pass to a blue shirt or turn and run at the defense and he links up well with Beto. Doucoure gives very little going forward and I don`t think he`s good defensively.
What I`d like to see is Beto and Alcaraz given the front two role and let the midfield be the first line of defense and told to win the ball and feed either of those two to get us going forward. When we get Ilman back fit I`d start with both Alcaraz and him supporting Beto with one defensive midfielder in behind against teams around the bottom half, especially at home, and then away from home or against some of the better teams we could have a second defensive midfielder there and just one supporting the CF.

I definitely get your last point and the second half of the Man U game already brought those memories back for me. But I think a point away against a side that is currently playing well and looked well coached is ok. You mentioned yourself in the match thread that they were well set-up tactically (to paraphrase you a bit)

They’ve been playing well recently. Two good performances at Bournemouth, unlucky to lose at the pit, beat Villa quite easily at Molineux etc

Moyes has done so well and these people you mention seem to think this is the standard now, it should be but like you say lets not forget what we looked like for the rest of the season before Moyes....

I see Pickford re-iterate again today, he said the same in the interview with Joe Hart, that we are chasing down top 10. I get that you have to set goals to chase and, myself as much as anyone want do not want to settle for what we have, I think that might be a bit of a stretch given we are 9 points off Fulham in 10th, 10 games left which will be tough to get anything at all from the aways at LiVARpool, Forest, Chelsea, Fulham and Newcastle.

I`d back us to beat anyone at home, even if we won all our home games that is 15 points, the top 10 would only need 2 wins from 10 games... I think that is beyond us now.

We're a mid table team at best, relegation team at worst, he's done wonders for us since he arrived and basically took us out of the relegation fight, I'm not sure why some people have formed a delusion we should be winning every single game now, a point away at Wolves who have more to fight for now as they're still in the relegation fight is fine and when you throw in our injuries, it's a decent point

You are being harsh mate.

How can you question someone's hunger based on substitutions?

Really mad Sunday morning, mental gymnastics 😂

Not a great performance, but a decent point… and we could have won it if Beto took his chance in the second half.

We’re in and around Spurs, Utd and West Ham in the table… if we had the likes of NDiaye, McNeill and DCL available over the last couple of months I think we would have been closer to Brentford and Palace.

Whatever level we get to Moyes will always be a drag on our forward moment to true success. He proved that over 11 years last time around. Those are the facts.
