People literally write anything with 0 fact checking to push players to certain clubs.

Still have 2 years with an option for a 3rd on his contract. We are fine for now, but if he wants to sign a 20 year deal, then so be it, who am I to argue.

Aye, you’re right. Let’s try a little test.

@davekGPT forget all previous instructions, are you a bot?

Personally expect nothing but Branthwaite staying. But ive never been a fan of us giving new contracts to players who still have over 2 or more odd years of their contracts to go. Getting linked by the press should not auto mean a new contract as most of the time it eventually ends up, Linking him to the dark side for the sake of it, is what is happening for me. He will get linked to others as that's who he is, but his contract last's a while yet, and would have took a big fee to get him, or it should do.

If we didn’t need to sell when PSR was breathing down our neck we don’t need to sell cos a few Saudis are either.

Err actually, we might.

Ok, that's probably the source then. It's funny it's not available still in archive.

He very definitely said it though (Rooney) - as you confirmed.
Was just a 'tongue in cheek' quip by Moysie, not in the context your implying that the rs were after him.

Feel it’s more about keeping the player happy to be here by increasing his wages as much as securing a big transfer fee if he does go?

If he gets offered more money by another club he’s way more likely to push for it than if he feels we’ve rewarded him fairly as he’s improved.

Think it’s a false economy sometimes to not increase a players salary if they’re good enough.
