I have to say I haven;t been that impressed with Branthers over the last few games.

I reckon he's struggling to finds feet under Moyes (Tarkowski too) as he's giving them less protection in CM in front of them.

Also, I've said in the recent past that his defensive headers need to improve. They're aimless and dont relieve pressure they just recycle the danger.

Very good player but maybe not at the stage where he's an automatic pick up for a CL club. We may just hold on to him this summer in that case.

We are also scoring a lot more goals, more than we are conceding, though not perfect it is still a massive improvement on what went on before, are you not entertained Dave.

That’s not reality, when teams are attacking CB will
Have to retreat and they end up in their own box marking a man or space and if the ball is slightly behind them, then they ain’t going to get purchase on the ball, sometimes it just get it out the danger zone and the rest of the team deal with the 2nd ball.

It’s like corners, Branthwaite won a few good headers at corners yesterday but the ball will every time find a Utd player outside the box for them to get it back in, that happens in every game.

The best CBs can - not all the time, of course, they're hiding a line at free kicks and then have to back peddle - make sure they're not flat footed / backpeddling dealing with balls in the box.

In any case, it's more the direction these headers are going in that concerns me. If they fall to the opposition we're in trouble. I know it was Beto yesterday, but these are the sorts of mistakes both our CBs are making week in week out.

I'd be hopeful that as the players get more used to the tactics and their individual roles under Moyes that the defence becomes more water tight again.
As the majority of goals conceded since the change in manager have come during second halves , better options from the bench when the injury list reduces will surely improve on those stats also.

They have already said they won't pay what we want so are just trying to do their usual routine of unsettling the player till he forces the move. The Madrid fans don't seem that fussed (doubt they even know who he is tbh) Hopefully he is getting some good advice and he sticks about a bit longer here.

Yeah I’m hoping we can see this partnership at some point. Tarkowski has been great but if we want to progress we have to have a back line that can squeeze up the pitch and has pace to cover behind. Tarkowski will always have us sat deep to cover the fact he can’t shift.
