VAR

Over the last 2 weeks we've seen 3 VAR decisions last a few minutes on each occasion, against Liverpool, Palace and now yesterday. It's absolutely ridiculous the amount of time they are taking to make decisions. It seems to me that when something goes our way they check it with a fine tooth comb looking for anything.

I know fans of other clubs will feel hard done by , but I genuinely think that us and Wolves are screwed over time and time again.

We really need to kick up a fuss about this because it seems to be blatant now

Theres only one thing that annoys me about yest. Switch the venue and ends and every man and his dog knows the refs on field decision stands. Not a chance in hell VAR are telling the ref to look at that at Old Trafford. Same at Anfield. If thats Salah the pen is being given. Its not even a debate.

For VAR to work there has to be the will to get the correct decision.
As it is the main aim seems to be find an outcome that is in the best interest of the "big two".
Forget about the big six it's Liverpool and Manchester United that sky care about they are there cash cows.
Premier league football is just corrupt.

As I mentioned earlier the technology is there, as seen at the World Cup. No wasting time.

The richest league in the world doesn't want to use it.

I can imagine the premier league HQ is full of absolute kiss arses who just agree with anything and don't challenge as they want to climb the ladder.

Typical London office culture.

Another ridiculous decision to go on top of other ridiculous decisions

How long have we had it for now? 5 years is it? For the sake of fairness let's say the first seasons worth of howlers is due to incompetence.

But here we are now, 5 years in and they get to see multiple replays, have 3 or 4 people working in it at any given time yet can still manipulate any decision they see fit.

It's beyond incompetence. It's match fixing, it's corrupt.

Utd game getting reffed like they're still a top 4 team.

Never seen Shearer backing us like that on motd he must have had us on his coupon
"It's as if they're trying to force the referee into a decision"

About as damning as you can get a statement from Shearer, although there's no if, that's exactly what they did, forced the ref to change what was a correct decision into a match fix for UTD

Just watched Southampton BHA game on MotD. Jonathan Pearce on commentary says, “he’d probably have got a spot kick if he’d gone down there’.

So on the same weekend, you can not get a penalty for not going down and not get a penalty for going down.

For the record, “going down” has absolutely nothing to do with whether you were fouled or not. It’s not the job of the player being fouled to try to guess what mood the officials are in.

Schroedinger’s rule book.
Doucoure did the same first half , he ran through in the box and would have got, let's call it a 'Gakpo' penalty, if he went down as he ran across the defender and legs tangled. But he stayed up and cross got blocked.

I think yesterday highlights why it’s rigged. In the derby, you could argue we got the rub of the green. Look how crazy the media went and the scrutiny of Oliver. Despite being poor for both.

Then they get a dodgy pen against Wolves no one says anything and the pen yesterday, you get yeah it should have been a pen and move on. No scrutiny or outrage.

As a sign of a more assertive Everton emerging under new ownership, then calling for a vote on the use of VAR and making it more transparent perhaps following the Rugby TMO model would be a good start.
It would be interesting to see how clubs voted on changes to improve the usage.

Who could possibly not want it improved?

I wonder…
If the players reacted the same

I think we got given the derby goal because if it was disallowed the refs safety would have been in question.
