TBF just two years back the lowest points total the promoted club finished on was Forest on 38 points. That was the mix you mentioned. Fulham came up premier league ready with the manager and squad they had. Forest signed about 200 players but somehow the strategy worked. They also had very good home form for most of the season. And Bournemouth quickly realised Scott Parker was no good and sacked him 5 games into the season instead of giving him up to December.

I think a problem for some of the yo yo clubs is they put average players on five year deals and so they're stuck with them even if they've shown they're no good in the prem. Leeds still play likes of Firpo and Strujik who were rubbish last time in the prem so little different than Leicester coming up and thinking Faes and Vestegaard could cut it which was a hilarious naïve opinion.

There are always exceptions to the rule of course, my point was more I'd rather see "big" football-mad clubs like S'land or Leeds in the league than Norwich day trippers. Some clubs give it a right good go; whether it's Fulham who were ready made or that time a year or so previous they spent about £100m on 15 players and it was a disaster.

Last season it was clear as day Shef U and Burnley accepted relegation from the first whistle (8 wins between them all season). At least Luton gave it a go and everyone kind of wanted them to do well because of the story. I remember Blackpool a few years ago under Ian Holloway basically just trying to win 4-3 every week, at least it was enjoyable.

If we stay up this season, next season really "should be" be a walk in the park.

Not sure that's really the angle to be fair, more an indication that the relegation mark is moving so slowly we have absolutely nothing to worry about.

It has been used for that angle which is why I said some are using it for that. Maybe not in this case but either way it’s incorrect.

If we had lost all 7 of Moyes games we still wouldn’t be in the bottom 3. It’s going to be another 25 pointer is all you need.

They didn't.

They finished on 26 points.

Even with two teams given point deductions, they were well down.

Same thing that'll probably happen with Ipswich next year, once McKenna goes and a few of their better players get picked off by Prem clubs. Finding their level which is bottom of the Championship after back-to-back incredible promotions.

There is always a risk that one of the 2 going on a good run i guess. We still have to play Ipswich at home. Depending on how far back in the league they are then, it could be a game we must not lose. 2 winnable fixtures coming up for us, but squad is thin as paper right now and knackered. Win the next 2, and we are 100% safe.

If Delap’s gone, they’re done before it starts.

Guess it all depends on how they rebuild; they'll bring in a lot of money for some of their better players. I like Delap, think he could be a great signing for us, has all the attributes of "top potential". Whether or not he'd come here instead of picking up £150k a week at a Chelsea or ManU is a whole other question...

Knowing if we just removed every point we've won since Moyes come in and still not be bottom 3 just shows how bad that bottom 3 is.
