But seriously, why don't they just ferry people up and back from the ground.

Lack of a ferry terminal would be a problem there.

I used to have to catch two buses & walk 1/2 a mile or more, but I was young then - then car wise it was always a long walk & hard to park nothing is perfect, but Goodison was built over 100 years ago ....

This is a brand new 21st century ground access for home fans & away fans should have been planned way in advance .....as soon as planning permission was granted .....

They’re all con merchants on the council. We don’t tend to elect the best and brightest, we elect the biggest gobs.

The city has long lagged behind other regions for redevelopment because our councillors are all happy being big fish in a relatively small pond. The majority of development since 2008 has been private investment that would have happened with or without the council, and much of the rest was EU funded, but the council still try to take all the credit for anything that happens.

It’s why seemingly simple things like sorting out transport to a new, state-of-the art stadium in a previously neglected area is left to the last minute and will be an avoidable cock up.

The council lost out on proper investment from government with the crap acceptance of a deal that gave us a second class ‘metro mayor’, they cocked up the investment for a new tram system, and now they’ve failed to sort out parking, trains and buses for Bramley Moore.

The club should invite all of the councillors to visit the new stadium, then take them out through the back door and walk them all into the Mersey. Grifters one and all.

He's had no role in BMD so desperately trying to crowbar himself into the success of the new stadium. Unfortunately it backfired last night.

He'll throw everything at it next few months to save face.

He's created more jobs in his PR dept than he has for people in the city.

Won't ever happen but...
I'd rather we delay the move to get infrastructure in place and sorted.

I'm absolutely aware it won't happen and should have been sorted 12 months ago but it's taking the whole gloss off the move for me.

I think if they get a load and I mean a load of buses and a few extra trains on the stations, they will be in a better plave, but they can’t just magically up a few extra trains.

When you consider the commercial benefits to the city already and the local economy when it’s opened, the council should have implemented a clear plan with regard to the transport infrastructure. It is dereliction of duty that they have thus far failed to do anything with the rail links.

The station isn't going to be used by everyone however the parking "policy" has created a negative impact on the station.

The club and the council clearly envisaged a high percentage of fans coming in using public transport, the survey's and early planning showed this, and the lack of talk of cars, car parking etc. They steered the talk of wanting to make it a higher percentage leaving cars at home.

That's fine if you can. I can get in to town on the bus, I could walk from town to BM or I could get a bus to Scottie or get the train to Sandhills. No need for a car I suppose. But that's not for everyone and certainly not for many who drive from outside areas. Or who are disabled etc. Which brings you back to the disgraceful parking situation. I believe is a money making scheme for the council. People will need to park somewhere. Then bang.

Can people park in Stanley Park and then get on a shuttle bus say from Walton Lane or Priory Road to BM? There's been suggestion of a bus anyway if people still want to have a drink around Goodison's hangouts.

For me Sandhills alone is inadequate anyway, and there should be another station between Moorfields and Sandhills (around Stanley Dock). It's been mooted long before our appearance. Sure there'll be more buses layed on from town like the Soccerbus, I feel in all this the council and the mayor, and transport authorities have hugely got this all wrong.

The infrastructure they really need is Sandhills to be rebuilt which is easily a few years worth of work.

What we can hope for before August, is more trains ( there needs to be dedicated trains lined up to go at Sandhills at full time). What we are currently getting is the standard service (every 15 mins before 7pm, and every 30 mins after 7pm) with trains already half full with people going home from town.
