Sandhills station

certainly where on street parking would cause minimal impact to residents or businesses that would be close dat match time. as a wool with only 1 train home option for a midweek evening game, travelling by car is the only realistic option at the moment for midweek games, defo the case for an 8pm kickoff cup game that may go on later than normal
I don't know the layout around the new ground very well but I think on street parking is never gonna cause minimal impact on a match day - look how many streets get full around Goodison and how far out it spreads.

Really need to sort the public transport and incentivise people to use it.

Stadium looks great but concerned with the transport issues.
Often come from Wirral by car and concerned about the parking restrictions around the stadium. They need to lift them on match days and sort out decent transport links from the city centre.
Either that or a 30 minute walk, in all weathers. Not ideal

It's mainly an industrial area surrounding the stadium mate,I just don't see the problem on a match day in lifting these new restrictions, there are also plenty of businesses nearby I'm sure who would welcome the extra revenue from opening their premises.

Pretty much this, the independent secondary industry to the match (temp car parks at a tenner a place) haven't found their way in yet.
Where is the nearest multi-storey car park? And does it have an attached cultural quarter full of bars and eateries?
Who's on hand with the independent bus services also?

oh I agree on public transport, I'd much rather go on the train to evening games but the only train I can get on is at 11:30pm, miss that and its a stay on the station benches.

Getting there isn't the issue mate, everyone's train drops them off at the ground at different times. Now let's say 30,00 fans all want to use that station to get home at the same time. That's where the problem lies.
It'll need a garrison of shock-police on some match days. Because the aways that turn up mob handed will need minding. Funnelling 90% of 52k people through one small train station is (having said that out loud) stupefying dangerous.

I think the transport will be down to a bus service on match days. No reason this would not work well as long as they have plenty of buses doing the runs into town after the game. Got the bus from the station out to Elland road years ago and it seemed to be a system that worked well. Regent road will be closed off to traffic I think, so there`d be plenty of space to have buses parked up waiting to load up after games.

The ego's of the people running this city though mate, I doubt they have even consulted other council's over how they manage things.

Hey guys, I’m curious to know how many train stations are within walking distance of Goodison. Any insights would be great!
