we were also interested in MGW and Elanga but didn't have the funds, both have now done well at Forest.
We had the funds for elanga...he just didn't fancy us. And this is where for me thelwell is not the solution. He has an eye for a player, i am sure he is very good in working through the details, but in his main job in selling a project, a long term plan to convince those players to join us, he isn't doing very well. Yes he has worked in difficult conditions, but with the new stadium, it should be an easier sell to get those players on board.

"alright lads, fancy joining a continually relegation threatened club, with loads of aging players, loads of PSR problems and a manager who thinks grinding out draws is the best the club can hope for. Oh and the football you'll play will be atrocious.....lads?!?!"

😂😂 Christ we had Dyche & zero funds. It’s not just on the DOF to sell the club, it’s on the manager & CEO as well. It’s a team effort. We’ve had the most uninspiring managers since he’s been here & no CEO.

We had the funds for elanga...in fact he was very close in joining us. It was a dirt cheap deal too that would have been perfect for us. Managers come and go, especially at everton...not so much dof. Managers main responsibility is what's happening on the pitch. Dof have more of a broader role, overall strategy and plan making sure the club is in a upward trajectory. Dof can make a call on replacing the manager alongside owners if manager is not performing etc...

You think Thelwell should be replaced because Antony Elanga didn't fancy joining us?

There hasn't been a long term project to sell since Ancelotti left, even that was debatable. We're still working window to window, hopefully until this summer.

I would hope they have drafted a multi-year plan or will soon enough. Moyes's contract runs for next two years, then what, assuming things go well enough not to create another disruption? I would still imagine club now has the best project to sell in decades. New stadium, big increase in revenue, big turnover in players. New owners who are hopefully ambitious.

we literally had a point deduction. bet every agent said to stay away from that stress

think we are jumping the gun a bit on alcaraz, so don't be too dissapointed if it doesn't work out. However, he is basically trying to organize and absolute [Poor language removed] show and we will continue to be in the prem. Deserves time.

Nice to see people come around to the reality of the job he has done for us.

I think that and also the Wolves team that he was a part of building with Nuno show that he can do it. Jorge Mendes can be a good thing or also a bad thing (Valencia).

The players we couldn't get and turned out to be good for their clubs like Kudus show that he has some instinct as well.
