Fair enough. Laptops age quite poorly, they're a nightmare to upgrade. In 18 months can see you hating it. Might be worth picking up a cheap one off a certain auction site beginning with 'e'. Find someone local and fix a deal for cash. Couple of hundred quid. It'll give you a taste and there's a universe of games. The absolute latest and greatest aren't going to work well on a laptop anyhow, so there's a way to filter your choices.

I don't know the laptop market so well, a quick browse I found this.

Well the laptop parts naming is just as rubbish as the desktop ones, but got up to speed a bit now. And the Acer Nitro V 16 on Amazon that @Goat linked seems hard to beat if you don't care about the battery. Newer cpu architecture compared to the Lenovo and better thermals than the MSI one (49c on the keyboard is rather high). All of them are a bit loud, but that seems to be the norm at this price range.

Ive asked in a Discord im in, some people know stuff, I await their suggestions.
I can't really comment on build quality these days, as I haven't had a gaming laptop for a long time. What I can comment on is specs. And tbf, most of those seem a bit underwhelming to me. I am curious why 16Gb is still the standard. More and more games are gobbling up both RAM and VRAM.
But with a mobile 4060 (just for gaming) pretty much any of the CPU's in those links are fine. If you want to do a bit of video stuff on the side, then as many cores (AMD) or P-Cores (Intel) is what you want.
And personally, factoring in battery performance in a gaming laptop is redundant. We are talking differences of 70 minute vs 80 minute life gaming (if that) If you aren't gaming on the go, then make use of those powerplans, and make sure you are set to all the power saving features when not plugged in!
I think either of those is a decent choice tbh. I'm a bit wary of ASUS lately sure to some pretty terrible customer service that had been well publicized, but MSI haven't showered themselves in any glory either.
I did personally have a MSI gaming laptop back in the day (got rid in 2018) and it was a really great but of kit (it was a decent specced machine - great CPU and 16GB ram and a decent gpu. Fantastic matte screen as well). But since then MSI have had their issues (though I do currently have an MSI motherboard in my work and home computers, and an MSI 4090 in the work machine)

One is 144hz and one is 165hz.
I'd go with the one that costs less. With a mid range mobile cpu, 16 gb ram and a mobile 4060 you aren't going to be hitting 144 fps at anything resembling decent graphics settings.
Maybe eSports title would be able to hit 144/165. So factor in what your want to play. If eSports and taking advantage of the gargantuan library of old games, then possibly go for the 165hz display for that little bit of extra smoothness.
Mate’s just rabbited my head off for 2 hours hiking about this Kingdom Come sequel. Anyone playing it?
