Computer games.

Are you set on getting a Laptop?
For that price range you could get a half decent PC build. That gives you better upgrade options going forward.
Yes and no.

Compare this :

Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-51 Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i5-13420H, 8GB, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6G, 15.6" Full HD IPS 144Hz, Windows 11, Black

To this

Scan Gamer RTX, AMD Ryzen 5 5500, 16GB DDR4, 8GB NVIDIA RTX 3050, 1TB M.2 SSD, Win 11

Both similar price, but the laptop has the monitor, keyboard and "mouse", although if you used the track pad for gaming we are gonna fall out.

I'm happy to go to like a grand
Specs are decent for the price. But I would avoid MSI outside of their high end laptops (>£2k) due to issues with poor build quality.

At the moment, this is probably the best deal on a laptop with a 4060:

CPU performance is lower, but still good enough for gaming. Main thing is the GPU performance is the same (games are usually more GPU intensive) and the price is significantly lower. Build quality and display are both good for a budget gaming laptop. Battery life is also very long compared to most gaming laptops due to a large battery (90Whr) and an HS CPU.

There's also this:

Slightly better GPU, comparable build quality and display to the TUF. Significantly lower battery life due to no iGPU and smaller battery.

With that second one, what do you think of this one? Seen this before.

Was just reading that review.

I like these 3, but all have minor "issues", some could be fixed with more RAM, if you think its something you could add yourself?

After playing BG3 the voice acting feels absolutely horrible. Overall it’s fun enough, 7/10 for me at best though
Pretty much all of the major studios are bought up and corporate at this point. Everything is safe and nothing is really inspired. Instead of friends getting together and making games they are being told how to write and what they are allowed to do. BG3 may be the one outlier for a long time. It's a shame.
