The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Every time Merson gets something wrong involving us his hatred towards us goes up. He’s at boiling point now, you can see it in his face every time he’s forced to discuss us. He goes redder and redder, that might be the whisky but I suspect it’s also a hearty helping of rage. Just hope he’s been staying away from the bookies when predicting our games the utter mess.
Mess of a man isnt he thinks his view counts for more than others, sky must just literally employ him because they worry if they sack him he will hit the bottle hard

If you believe we'd have still been on 17 points 6 games later with Dyche still in charge you need to give your head a wobble. We'd been averaging pretty much a point a game up until that point.
Of the 6 games since, we’d have lost 4 of them under Dyche, Villa would have been lost more heavily, Spurs we’d have bottled like the Villa and Bournemouth games earlier in the season, the Derby would have ended 4/5-1 after their second and yesterday we’d have caved completely given how Palace came out second half. Brighton and Leicester would have been draws once we’d gone ahead

Now we’re in a position where we can look up the league rather than down for the first time in 4 years

I've nothing against Wolves, but I'd like to see them go down purely so we can raid them. They've got some decent players there we could defo work with. If Leicester or Ipswich somehow magically beat the drop, they'll be down in the muck again next season. Wolves could potentially be a decent side with a couple of tweaks.

Beto was playing the exact same way since he arrived. He's just had a long unbroken run because of DCLs injury. That's just luck.
When Beto was being thrown the odd scraps in terms of minutes played, he was completely isolated as The Coward told his team to just lump the ball forward in blind hope. The coaching I’m talking about applies to the whole team as well. If Dyche was still here, he’d have been talking Beto down, complaining about how hard everything was and how difficult it is to score. None of the goals Beto has scored of late would have been created in a Dyche team. We know that because Dyche teams barely mustered a shot on target in his last 11 games.

And about 4 places lower in the league table, and a much more stressful and miserable second half of the season.
Yes, I accept that would have been the case. But the overall plan to recruit a new more dynamic manager and hand them cash to spend would still be in tact.

Now we're 'stuck with Moyes'.

We were doing that because we had both McNeil and Garner injured.
