Yeah he spoke about this in his first interview after joining, Eto'o was his idol growing up.

Also saw him doing much better hold up play today than I've seen him do before? Looked much better back to goal than I expected from him

It's kind of incredible that we have a big strong number 9 slotting for fun, who has been a blue going back to his youth (seriously, looking at his arrival interviews and rattling off the names of Bobby Brownshoes' boys, he must've been over the moon when he realized he'd have One Lung Geri feeding him in Udine), and instead of being an academy product (or even English) he is a Portuguese lad we signed from a Serie A team in his mid 20s.

At this point he's pretty clearly rocketing up the list of strikers that defenders least want to go up against. Just absolutely battering everybody these last few games while being absolutely deadly any time they slip up. Always loved the guy and long may this continue.

Good news story of the season regardless of who you support. Kept working hard and now reaping the rewards.

I am seriously starting to like this guy! His interview after todays game was great, he's a humble guy who struggled in a terrible system under a manager who had no idea or belief in what Beto could do.....and now look at him. Tentative steps....but if he carries on like this he could possibly end up with 10-12 goals for us this season. I would love nothing more for him to become a success at Everton, and look forward to him scoring the first ever goal at our new stadium!

When he teared up after his first goal I just felt his heart and humanity. He loves his club and he wants to do well and he knew he just needed a chance. Every little opportunity he had you could see flashes. Each time you’d question whether he should be given the start over Dom. I just love this guy and his joy is infectious.

Can remember a game, Dyche era, he was sent through goal like he was today and he was clumsy, never looked confident and went down trying to get a pen.

Can’t believe what I’m seeing tbh. Hope it continues and we can concentrate on other areas in the summer.

It helps when you don't have dychey, stoney n woaney absolutely berating you. Think it was the Southampton game in the league cup n saw them having a go at him, thought he was going to walk off the pitch n lamp them!
