Im really not sure what you want from a DOF. Certainly doesnt seem based on reality?

What is it?

I thought you talked about the squad in general. What sort of quality would you expect with these finances? Someone like bloody Bournemouth have spent 300 million more in four years.

There has to be an element of stability.

We've had to ride the PSR wave and then get a manager in to a position where they'll be here for 3+ seasons.

Given we've spent absolutely peanuts over 5 years, the fact we've got quality, is genuinely a good nod to Thelwell.

He's doing alright, and if you're not keeping him, i want someone proven, who knows what direction the club want and ensures we're stable for years to come.

Thelwell gets the brief that's why im happy to back him again.

I'm on the fence with retaining Thelwell.

Initially my view was that TFG should have a complete clear out of all senior personnel.

Since then Moyes has come in and done a fabulous job and I've reflected on many of the excellent points that I've read on here in favour of keeping him.

Is he the best DoF available? Probably not
Is the the best we could attract ? Probably not.

So that's an argument not to renew his contract.

However , on balance , he has done a decent job and the crucial thing for me is whether he and Moyes are on the same page and Moyes feels able to work with him.

Right now Moyes is the most important individual at Everton.

You'd hope that they're on the same wavelength.

Thelwell wanted Beto, saw his strengths, brought him in and he's flattered mostly, but Moyes has watched him train and played to his strengths.

If Thelwell is signing players Moyes likes then surely it's a good thing?

….i’m really not bothered about exchanges regarding specific players. He left us 7 games into a season without a striker, then brought Maupay in. He’d sent Simms on loan and had to recall him. We started the season with Gordon playing up front and finished it with Gordon up front. We were exposed for a full season.

We can’t pick and choose which signings were his. I’ll give him credit for O’Brien despite you saying he’s a dud and nothing to do with Thelwell. Ashley Cole apparently brought Garner in. No picking and choosing, he’s the DOF.

As you quite rightly say, this squad lacks genuine quality

Do you even read what you write?

Literally been told now and seen posts stating 100s of times Thelwell didnt sign maupay

Look at your own post. Wtf.

Pickford, Branthwaite, Ndiaye not quality? What sort of quality are you looking for?

I commented that OBrien was a dud as he wasnt getting mins with Dyche.

I also said Thelwell needs to add top quality young players (as he has been doing).

Eggs though seems to hate someone who knows what theyre doing.

He reckons Thelwell should have used magic beans to buy players.

Are you a parody account or another clubs customer?

Oh mate...you'll never get an astute answer from him.

Aren't you picking and choosing too though if you are saying he had nothing to do with certain players coming in

Still think he's done far more than enough to be entrusted with the rebuild.

It really cannot be overstated how ridiculously trying the circumstances have been at Everton since he got here in a financial and business sense. It goes far beyond just not having money, but it is also true that we had less money to spend than quite literally everyone else we were competing with for that entire period.

The fact that we have a squad now that any manager can get some sort of tune out of is genuinely a massive credit to him. Unless they're pulling off some insane coup like parachuting in the whole Brighton setup, then I'd be sad to see him go.

Of course it is.
The fact that Moyes is getting a tune out of Beto doesn't necessarily equate to Thelwell signing a player that Moyes likes though.
What it does demonstrate is the total tactical inflexibility of Dyche.
