He gave them the ball for the first goal and missed 2 incredibly easy chances, whilst "pressuring" their midfield by jockeying in front of them with 10 yards space for most of the match. I fail to see where he was brilliant. I guess he ran a lot in the first 70 mins?

Doucoure provides something we haven't had since Cahill, a bit of physicality, a bit of rough and tumble, some presence.
Cahill would be league top scorer with the chances Doucoure has had this season. We can't chop and change, what we have - we have.

Ndiaye has already gone down injured in the same game, so what passed through the lads brain to do something that was guaranteed to get him sent off - this dropping the entire team in the crap for the next game.
Thanks to Doucs we now have one spare player across the front 6 positions this Saturday.
But he had a great game, missed two great chances, have the ball away horribly for their first and hit himself sent off after the whistle. Well done Doucs

On a personal level, from everything that's been put out there on social media by the club and when he's appeared elsewhere, plus everything he's had to say about Everton, I cannot say anything bad about the bloke at all. He has been a useful player for us, but is absolutely crap now.
It's ok, it happens when you're past your prime, even to the best of players. He doesn't pick himself and it's clear he gives his all - it's just not enough due to his poor decision-making, he's a yard slower in his head when gifts the ball away constantly.
I sincerely hope he isn't given a new contract seeing as he's the highest earner yet probably about 10th most effective player in the squad.

You think he thought about it? It was pure emotion. Adrenaline. The same for Slot and Snowflake Jones.
The positive side of it is that it meant so much to him, shows he gets Everton, shows he understands what those glory-hunters are, with their taunts and condescending chants and banners etc.

No I don't think he thought about it, that's part of the issue, but we've always had an element of lauding people for doing brain dead things that harm the team but using 'he gets us' to excuse that. Ten other lads on the pitch managed to not do it didn't they?
Ferguson is regarded as a legend by some for constantly dropping the team in the crap by not controlling himself, even remember people liking Funes Mori kissing the badge in the derby for being a complete tool.

Was thinking this morning is it better to have someone like the Duke who is limited but would die for the club or someone like Rodriguez who was so talented, but basically sat out the last third of the season when he was here.
Whatever you think of his ability he's been one of our most influential and impactful signings in this half decade.
