Moyes presser gave me some hope it wasn't too bad. 'Jarred his knee' kind of implied it had eased. At the time it can feel much worse

Might just be wishful thinking

He`ll 100% have had some kind of indication from the physio team as to what it`s likely to be and how long he`ll likely be out for, so I`d say that it`s looking quite positive.

Lachman test, didn't see them do it at the time but could have been missed. Hope it's not the ACL I had three ops on mine and still have issues. Especially bad for someone who twists and turns like he does.

As I have posted on here before, a Lachman test is also not conclusive due to other factors that impact the stability of a knee, only an MRI tells you for sure. They will have done that by now, so will know.

I agree, an ACL would be a dreadful injury for a player of his profile and style both mentally (confidence to twist/turn like he does now) and physically (he would no doubt have a lateral tendonesis as well which limits rotation to reduce the likelihood of rerupture). This would be similar to the impact Bolasie's injury had on him.

Sorry to hear about your own situation - a horrid injury, I know.

That's not particularly optimistic viewing

She’s bang onto them taking that picture, her fella must be tortured

Yeah it's hard to tell from his reaction, I imagine all sportsmen panic when they feel something in the knee knowing how serious it CAN be (especially when a teammate has just had a really bad one) but there's a whole spectrum of things it could be. Not always a straight correlation between pain and damage either. So I'm not sure if he can have known for sure it was so bad as to provoke that reaction, and even if the physios suspected a bad one they surely wouldn't tell him that on the pitch.

On the phrase "opened up his knee" it sounds awful but it reminded me of a Holgate injury a couple of years ago that was described the same, in the end it was 8 games (so slightly worse than initially suspected by Lampard) but right now I think we'd take that given the possible alternatives.

8 for Holgate was way too few, considering... Well, he was our Mason after all. Would've been better for both parties for him to recover a bit longer. Like 2 years or so. 😜
