He pretty much came through checks etc so far fine, just the Italian laws prohibit anyone with an implant or device from participating in professional sport mate
Aye I know about Italy's ban for it but he's still a (literal life) risk, like. Could be like Blind and have little to no frequent problems, could be a situation where his heart can't take full games, etc.

I'm all for giving it a go if everything is fine with it though, don't get me wrong! He'll have to be checked extensively anyway before any kind of contract, realistically.

Yeah same here mate, it's got the added benefit in terms of the owners as well as it will no doubt get them some credit back with the Roma fans ensuring the lad was looked after career wise

Having a first choice right back on a loan that has an obligation is as good as buying them then and there but saves the immediate expenditure. Free signings are permanents. I’m really not sure what the issue is. Lamptey or Walker Peters immediately become our first choice. A left back on loan just seems sensible, if you want to drop the big bucks on a striker
That's not what you said originally though, is it.

I can't remember who's contracts are up at the end of the season, but I reckon 6 based on weak links with 100 odd mil to spend (providing psr doesn't breath down our necks this summer too)

- 2 defenders to replace myko and tarks. I reckon branth and o brien should play big parts next season - reckon 20-30m for both
- 1 cm. I think Iroegbunam/Garner should fit in the squad but could do with another - 20m
- 1 RW, send jacko back and linstrom will go back - probs about 25-30m
- 1 Cam to replace doucs - 30m
- 1 CF to replace Dom. I think for a decent striker you need to look at 40m+.

Lingering around 150 mark but knowing we can get a few loans on (with options to buy) I'd say 100 to 150m.

Its a big rebuild. I'd say we need 2x pacey fullbacks assuming Young and Coleman retire. A back up centre back to cover Keane leaving. An extra central midfielder, but retain Gana for another year for cover. Two attacking midfielders and release Docoure (one if Alcaraz is retained). A right winger with pace (only needed one of those for about 2 seasons now!). 2x strikers to cover DCL and Broja leaving. So that's 8 needed in, and 2 or 3 of those could be loans, so minimum 5 players to be purchased assuming we don't sell any. This still leaves us thin but with the rest of the squad filled out promoting youth players.

If we rebuild this way the average age of our squad will decrease from 31 to 25, provided we buy more Charley's.

Not entirely a bad thing if we can incorporate more pace into the squad as well.

I fully expect that we'll have one of the youngest squads in the league next season mate, I only see Pickford, Gueye and Tarkowski being here over the age of 26 - although I do think we may add a 1/2 around 27-28 yo on loan/free.

Reckon the rest incoming will be between 20-24.

Mykolenko will be 26 in a few months time and I wouldn't be shocked if Young is offered another year just to fill in the gaps. And I still hope DCL would sign, I think he overestimates his value in the market at the moment. No-one is going to pay over 100kpw to him. This would save the club a lot of money.

One thing I will guarantee is that Young will not be offered a new contract. DCL will have some decent offers in the summer, my guess is he'll either end up as an option for a big side (Arsenal, United etc) but will spend most of the season earning the bench besides when they need to rest players or lady ten sub in a game they are chasing, or one of the promoted teams or teams that just stay up will take a risk and offer him a good wage (a promoted team what he could offer if healthy it's worth the outlay tbh).

Only one who'll still be here next season whose coming out of contract is Gueye and I'm not a million percent sure over that either.

It's a large task to get the squad up to 25 by the start of next summer with the amount outgoing, but it's not a task that with sufficient funding of around 150m should prove actually that difficult.

Confirm two loans as permanent, re-sign Gueye and Begovic as third keeper again. We'd be actually at 17 players already (including Armstrong) one needed would be a backup keeper. So you're looking at 7 players needed, 3 loans means you'd literally need to buy a whopping four during the summer if nobody under contract is sold.

As it happens I think we will bring in around 5-6 permanent deals (3-4 for sizeable fees) aside from the loans we may trigger the options on, with another 3-4 or so loans

We'll be in a similar position to Forest when they came up. All of their loanees had to either go back or be purchased and they started with about 7 contracted players. They then brought in over 20 players, failed psr and nearly got relegated. It's going to be a tricky task to get right.

If Gueye doesn't sign a contract I think it's almost guaranteed that we offer one to Doucoure and/or bring in some older players from elsewhere. There's no way Moyes will want a situation where he potentially has no outfield players on the pitch at all who you would put in the 'experienced' bracket, it's a big thing for him and always has been.

6-8 with a couple 1 year deals offered, that will make many fume and stamp their feet.

Young hungry lads from Champ, even a a little risk or 2 from league 1.

Age is key for much of them, but we do need decent experienced players too, say 23-26 age from Europe/Prem, but its tricky with these, as many of them are already coasting, so Moyes slower dithering way would actually help with these players.
