Just like we won’t be getting in 8 bodies at 450k each either. It’ll be a right old mix, I expect.
well, quite. I like the cheap unknown gems unearthed and thrown in. Unpredictable. Crazy fee's for Simonsen, Kone, Nyarko, Klassen, Tosun, and manic wages on the likes on Sandro, Alcaraz, Schneiderlin, Cuco, it's all just a sea of regret. We've been a soft touch club for decades. Need iron will, forged in the fires of hades, strength and speed.

It's gonna be Ayew isn't it.

We need a striker, a RW a LB and RB and a back up CB, so that's 5 players as a minimum.
I've re-counted and even a bare-bones side of 24 players (2/3 players for each position) would require 7 signings to have sufficient depth.
I'd expect loans to be heavily utilised again (at least 3).
If we have a budget of around £80/100m (I've no idea if that is the case) then its 4 players in the £20/25m region.

The main focus will surely be the move to BMD. I cannot see a wholesale revamp. I think more of the the loanees will get converted. Maybe get a cut price on Broja and Mangala given their injuries. both would have been nailed on starters if not injured. Lindstrom is a Moyes player all over, and Alcaraz looks like a keeper. add 4 more new faces to that and I think we have a good side.

Would be madness to sign either Broja or (especially) Mangala, who will be out for a long time yet.

I think Moyes has shown already that he isn’t going to get carried away. With that in mind, I think he will want to cherry pick 3ish extensions for those already here, even if just for a year.

Doing something like that in the right positions would allow us to rebuild this summer and next in a more gradual way than having a new player in almost every position for next season.

I think we renew Gana, Young (for his utility) and potentially DCL if Moyes can persuade him.

Then we need a new left back, two pacey attacking midfield/wide players, a striker and maybe a Gana replacement for the longer term. Beyond that I would hope we fill all our loan slots as well to pad out the squad until the next round of rebuild the year after.

I generally agree with this but I'd get rid of Young and promote Dixon. Perhaps get in another keeper too and bin one of the sub options.

Assuming we buy decent players i like the look of that

Surely we need a quality upgrade and a bit more depth. Can't see many players of the current squad that we should go on with apart from Gana and Begovic as 3rd keeper.

Feel like Branthwaite will leave for giving us additional money, we'll need a good mix between good invested money like Ndiaye, free transfers and loans. Can see 100-150m feasible.

6 to 9, depending on what happens with some contract situations

I hate what I'm about to do, because I firmly believe the type of people who do this usually need their hard drives checking, but...

GK - Pickford, ?, ? - May need up to two new signings here as both our 2nd and 3rd choice keepers are out of contract)
RB - Patterson, ? - Will need a right back as both Coleman and Young are out of contract and shouldn't be offered new deals, plus doubts about Patterson's level
LB - Mykolenko, ? - Will need a left back as we only have one at the club
CB - Tarkowski, Branthwaite, O'Brien, ? - May need another centre back if Keane isn't offered a new deal (which should only be on v reduced terms)
CM - Garner, Iroegbunum, Gueye(?), ? - Mangala's injury probably rules him out as a signing, but we will need at least one centre mid - two if Gana leaves
AM - Alcaraz(?), ? - You'd think it's unlikely that we offer Doucoure a new deal at least on his current terms, we may make Alcaraz permanent but possibly need another, but maybe we'll see N'Diaye and McNeil as viable options behind Alcaraz as the number 10?
Winger - N'Diaye, McNeil, ?, ? - Lindstrom and Harrison loans ending - we will need a couple of wide players here
Striker - Chermiti, ?, ? - DCL out of contract, Broja's loan ends and hard to think we won't sell Beto. We are going to need a couple of strikers.

That's potentially as many as 12

Realistically I could see one of our keepers staying, so us needing one there. I could even maybe see Keane getting a year on reduced terms unless he wants to go and play elsewhere. Think Gana will stay.

If you pressed me for a number I'd go 8, maybe 9 tops.

I do think we will see our transfer record broken this summer in a player, best guess it'll be a striker.

New owners laying down the marker they are ambitious and nothing has the instant impression of that than a record breaking deal.

Is it the wisest use of funds, guess it depends on who as we have so many positions to not only strengthen but which will have zero depth either.

Backed financially and with great recruitment it's a once in a blue moon opportunity we have, problem is though if we get it wrong or if the financial backing isn't there then it'll set any advancement back years.

Have the chance to make a massive leap forwards, it's kind of a one of chance to get this right though. Do it poorly and we end up with a squad filled by players on long term deals who are t good enough - deja vu
