Summer rebuild

Ok summer rebuild is obviously needed, the signs are both money and financial restraints due to regs are going to be not a restricting factor.

So poll at the top and in general what do people think the approach should be...

Overall i think it will be less then people are expecting, also think we will give extensions to a few some dont expect.

From this squad i see 16+ odd being retained, if possible.

I agree, although I’d prefer to see an almost total clear out and start a proper overhaul of the squad.

Won’t happen though, so I’d be happy with keeping hold of the likes of Branthwaite and ditching the likes of Keane, Doucs, Myko etc.

I think we'll sign 6-8 players but we'll spend less than people think. Less than the £100m. Unless we sell Branthwaite, then we'll spend that money too. But less than £100m net.

I’ll guess at £100 million (net). But I do think Branthwaite might go for in the region of £50 mill.

Think we'll use our loans to the fullest extent, and then shell out for 2-3. Maybe bring Charly in permanently if he impresses, but I don't think there's enough potential ability in the world to make Broja a risk worth taking.

I think we retain Gana, Begovic, Alcaraz.

That’s 15.

Need 8 players in my view.
1 GK, 2 full backs, 1 CB, 1 DM, 1 RW, 2 St (one of the strikers likely to be adaptable and play across the front line)

Then youth like Armstrong and Dixon etc make up the rest.

I imagine we buy 5, loan 3.

…..we can’t ’go with what we’ve got’ because we’re in a mess with contracts and loans finishing. We need numbers.

From what I hear, Gueye has been offered a new deal. It won’t be popular but it wouldn’t surprise me if the same applies to Doucoure and Keane. With nobody obvious to step up from the youth ranks, I doubt we’ll be in a position to replace all the players who are out of contract and loanees.

Other than Alcaraz, I doubt we’d be wanting to take up permanent options on any other loans (Mangala, Lindstrom, Harrison and Broja).
