Im pretty sure when he signed he was our highest paid player, didnt he delay the move due to wages.

I always loved him and always defended him. Some of the criticism he has received while with us is well over the top.

On a side note: I actually followed/admired him ever since his earlier years while at Ajax, just liked him for some reason and decided to keep an eye out. When I saw on the OS "Heitinga signs for Everton" - I was made up.
