Just so everyone is clear with the loan market as everyone seems confused

We're allowed 2 domestic loans and 4 foreign loans

BUT

The 2 domestic loans can be extended to 3 loans if 2 or more of the loans are left footed and don't have the surname "Harrison". If 1 of the loans has already played for 2 clubs, then that loan cannot be loaned for this season unless you are included in the time travel tests currently underway and your in fact signing the player for the 2025/26 season

For the foreign loans, we're allowed 4 signings but only if we include someone who is injured and has some form of association with Jon Textor. We're only allowed to sign an additional player from Italy only if we permanently sign Jesper and purchase Napoli and build them a new stadium.

You can only sign 2 players from the same club if one of the players has a name that you have to say twice (such as Jay Jay Okocha)

Hopefully that's all clear now what we can/can't do today.

@davek entire argument is that Dyche was hamstrung by poor ownership and no funds leaving him with a poor squad - therefore he had to grind out results, keep us relegation free and wait for the summer when we can offload low contribution players for quality and that the manager was doing a good job.

His argument now (and he's either being contrary for contrarian sake or he's a flat out moron) is that despite being 9 points better off and having a good buffer between us and the teams below us (having won as many games under a new manager in 4 matches as the previous manager managed in 19) we are having our expectations lowered and we now apparently:

Need the players we were waiting to offload in the summer

Have had our expectations lowered

The new owners should be spending big now and not wait until the summer

Don't try and search for logic, there isn't any.
It's all a bit embarrassing really. But people will say almost anything to protect a fragile ego (they may even believe it).

As much as the Sky Sports type agenda would love to have you believe Everton spending money badly as the reason we've struggled - the stadium, previous board and Russia's war got us into the current situation. Sure, one window under Koeman we spent a bit of money. Like Fulham, Bournemouth and West Ham have since. And nowhere near the amounts Nottingham or Villa have.

Teams spend money, teams invest money into the playing squad - we haven't. The only team to not have done the last 4 years. Any team, like Wolves have seen - will struggle with that.

Our squad value for fees, including players we have on loan who we didnt actually spend is 19th from 20 teams.

What I would say to that is we started to pay wages far beyond our income, a few seasons ago I think we were actually the highest % in Europe of wages/income.

Wages are the killer as they just keep ticking over week after week.
