Any more injuries and with some difficult fixtures coming up , there is no other option but to get a good striker in. That or face a relegation battle. Not impressed at all by the new ownership.

Why would the player be bang average and on 100k a week?

It was only 2 games ago, we were 1 weekends result of being in the relegation spots. 42% of the season still to play.

@Neiler, like me, has spent months on here saying our lack of options/attack dictates relegation scrap.

We've won 2 games and now it's "actually, maybe kick the can until the summer..."

Heads need to come out of arses, and we need to stop making excuses. The summer on here was the same - the squad needs investment. Now. And in the summer.

Look at it;
That question could get its own thread here we've had plenty of average players on that and more.

The point is the options are limited in Jan so spending savvily is key , don't want to make an heavy investment on a player who doesn't fit long term plans. Don't get me wrong I expect players in but im not expecting any high profile signings its Jan and we're hindered by psr
You used an extreme example to suggest we all want serious money spent when you very much know that is not the case.

People are frustrated and rightly so.

When's the last time a Jan. Signing has made a significant impact for everton? Jelevic? This is separate from any discourse I'm just curious because it seems like we every recent Jan signing has been pointless such as al ghazi, Josh King, mcgeady. Need change that pattern

"PSR MERT"

There's a lot who think this is the last we will hear of PSR... it won't be. June 2025 it will be used multiple times as an excuse nailed on.

Man United. These are 2023 figures but they made nearly £650m in matchday & commercial revenue.
This means their capacity to spend the amount of money on players which they do is unlikely to be hindered by PSR.

So yes - PSR does not affect them, because they make lots and lots and lots and lots of money.
