Would instantly improve our squad for the here and now. Does a lot of the dirty work on the pitch. However they would 100% want like £30m for him as they have recently taken the option of an extra year on his contract.

Not arguing mate, but I think the here and now thing we've done to death and it leads into a downward spiral, how about for the now and future.

The thing that baffles me is we've heard interviews with the likes of Thelwell stating things like as soon as the window closes we are planning for the next window. Yet every single window deals are left until the last day. Anyone know why this is? Do negotiations not happen pre January and then get the deal done asap? Is it down to the change of management that Moyes may have said no thanks these are Dyche players and I like my players to be able to pass the ball forward? Frustrating with the injuries and the players that seem to be out for an eternity.

sportwitness saying that Torino have offered 18 million euros for Beto, surely unless we have 2 strikers coming in we cannot entertain selling Beto? He is our only fit striker!

If we had DCL and Chermitti fit, with the prospect of a new player coming in before the deadline, then it would be a different story, but I just dont understand how we can sell him this window.

A striker with pedigree, available immediately, free of charge on low wages.

I think we should be looking at Ings! (don't think anyone has made this joke yet)

Sean Longstaff would be a great signing at the right price. Absolute workhorse of an 8, far better with the ball than he's given credit for.

Agree.

I’d be going after Lewis Miley in the summer, 18 year old, centre mid with lots of potential. I’m sure Newcastle would want to keep him but they have an excellent midfield anyway and he would be a great sale for their PSR, same as Anderson, who has been a big hit at Forest.

Depends if we have someone lined up

I reckon Miley may be a step too far for them.

Selling Beto for that amount frees up 5m on PSR so allows an additional 50m to be spent this window btw, canons payment freed up another 4m as well.

These are all purely statistical analysis of the way PSR bizarrely works on spending restraints

I'm practise would we spend it? Who knows. How much do we currently have to spend? Again who knows.

Biggest deciding factor is who could we actually get in if he left though.

If we freed up one or both domestic loan spots the options would significantly increase of any Beto deal being allowed as Moyes clearly doesn't rate the lad

its too high risk, no one knows when chermitti or dom will be back playing, it would insane to sell our only fit striker in this window. Even if there is 1 striker coming in, we need 2 fit as a minimum. The manager needs to have options.

100% he's not someone who's name will excite but he certainly someone who'll put proper shift in,which is important when you're down there

Paying decent money for a player you'd need to replace in a year or so if you ever want to improve though...

Feel like we've been down this road a lot recently

The only caveat is if the restriction on bringing players in is down to PSR constraints.

Selling Beto frees up 50m spending allowance this January. Now can or would we spend that and be able to improve on him?

Thought it was only 5x as that’s the length of contract so would be £25m and £2m?

We'll prob use all that money to sign ferguson from Brighton, and he'll get injured ten mins into his debut.
Everton that.
