We’ve got quite a few European loan spots available haven’t we? I know Moyes said players to have played in PL, but I’m sure there are some that have played previously who could help the cause for the positions required. I know we need p,Ayers, but I’m not sure we will do any business.

No. That sort of attitude is dangerous. We have a paper thin squad and a tricky April to come. Might not take much for things to turn.

EDIT: it’s about how potential signings see us, not how we see ourselves.

If we could get a midfielder for the sake of an example, KDH on loan after sending Broja back and a winger with pace and maybe Ferguson or that type of target man, that would be a good window for me. Maybe I am asking for too much, but honestly it is what we need even more so with the injuries. And we may have won two games but we are not safe yet.

The only way I see Chelsea taking Broja back is if 1) we pay up in full (not happening) or 2) we replace him with a loan from them for someone who is not going to feature for them and who has a higher salary, so there’s more financial benefit to Chelsea

The next 8 days will tell us everything we need to know about the new owners.

With a fully fit DCL and Mangala I could have seen us perhaps limp over the line but that would have been incredibly negligent had they not have added to the squad.

Now we've lost 2 players that start every game - we already desperately needed several players, so there really can be no excuses not to bring in at least 2 starting players, and at least 1 more for the squad that can grow and be a big player for the future.

Even without injuries we needed to be making signings as you can't bring in 12-odd players in one window (summer) and expect them to hit the ground running in the new season.

Looking at our entire squad I count 8 fit players that are at least the minimum quality needed for Premier League survival. The rest are miles off and a handful are out for most of the season.

This is about Moyes not the new owners. They will have told him and kev how much he can spend and he will be working on this
